I just received a confirmation that my wife and I are in #1006 (ocean view) on a Glory cruise. Judging by the deck plans this is a corner room near the front of the boat. Is this a good spot? This is our first cruise...hence my name. =)

We've cruised twice on the Conquest, and the floor plans are the same. We stayed in 1020, four cabins from the front ones you are talking about. It's nice and quiet up there. You can go out on the bow at night and it's pleasant and peaceful. We really like the 10th deck. Have had the same cabin both times. Told the wife the last time, "It sure feels good to be back in my shower."

My husband and I are booked in that same room 12/27/03 (#1006 on panrama) for the new years eve cruise! Could you tell me when you are going and and what you thought of it. Our boys will be across from us, and one has had a bout with seasickness on a fishing trip. I am concerned for him with these rooms being so high up on the boat . My husband and I have been on a couple of cruises together, but not with the kids. I've thought about getting the boys the seasick patch. Any and all advice would be much appreciated!

The patch worked wonders for me on my last cruise. We were a rockin and a rollin, but my friend and I with the patch didn't get sick. You might want to make sure your kids aren't to little for the patch. It does have some interesting side effects, such as over dialating your eyes so the whole eye looks black. I don't know what it would do to a younger child. This time I am trying Bonine(sp?) pills, which my pharmacist recommended. He also said that the sea sick wrist bands help. Basically you wear one on each wrist and they put pressure on a point on your wrist to stop seasickness. He said that they help pregnant women with morning sickness, so they must be good, but they are $10 a set so that was a little more expesive. good luck with whatever you do.

We just got back from the Glory. We were on the Lido Deck #9214 which was about the 2nd room towards the front. Occasionally we heard our neighbors talking in the hall late at night coming in from activities; otherwise, it was quiet. As far as motion, it wasn't bad as long as the seas were rather calm. One day the seas were rough and even taking Bonine didn't help with the seasickness. We were unable to get out of bed it was so bad. We learned the next day that many passengers and even some crew suffered due to the motion. It was certainly an unpleasant end to our vacation.

Hey, I thought that everyone loved that broken in look!!!!!
I noticed you said you are holding out for an interline upgrade. Are you an airline employee? I am. If you know of any insider info let me know. I'll post my thoughts on the cruise when we get back.

Yeah, I work for the biggest airline in the world.

I'll give you a hint, we don't carry people.

Make sure to tell your travel agent you are an interline employee so you get upgrades.
