Glory TBA stateroom

I was wondering if anyone else had a problem booking a specific stateroom on the Glory. We tried to book a stateroom on the Lido deck (category 4F) but our agent said it was only a guarantee. Apparently, Carnival has done this with almost all cabin categories on our sailing, scheduled 11/8/03, with the exception of the 6A, 6B, and the suites. Normally, we would not mind, except we are taking our elderly grandma with us and wanted a cabin near the top of the ship, close to elevators. Has anyone else encountered this ordeal when booking? Also, for those of you who have sailed under a TBA stateroom, did you end up getting an upgrade?

I was on the Paradise, and got upgrade from 1A to a 4 C.

Doing TBA again for the coming up Glory, got a 6 B and praying to get a balcony upgrade.

I think you should tell you TA the situation, and put a note on carnival system, when they decide who to upgrade, sometimes that makes a difference

We're booked for the August 23 cruise on Glory and we have a specific stateroom. We already have our cabin # and everything. Don't know why they told you that you couldn't have a specific cabin. We went through our TA and she got us the cabin # we wanted. Give them a call and explain it to them, hopefully they'll understand.

Sailing Glory August 16th! When calling Carnival to get info. on booking they would only give a "guarantee" cabin. Called a TA friend and she got me a specific cabin assignment. Also Carnival would not hold a reservation (so I could make a final check with hubby) for me but would hold 24 HR for the TA. First cruise for us. :) Lacey

Sailing 11/18 on the Glory booked an 8A balcony cabin almost a year ago and received the specific cabin I wanted. Maybe your problem is due to the timing, I know the ship is just about full for the 11/18 sailing.
