First ever cruise. Still not sure we've done the right thing. PLEASE someone tell me there won't be any horrid sprogs running riot. Our children are grown now and we really dont want to be bothered by other peoples children. When exactly do American children start thier school term. English kids here are all back in school first week in Sept.

I will be going on the Golden on Sept 5, and my two girls aged 10 and 9 will be going, if you dont want to be bothered by kids I would suggest that you book a cruise that will not allow children. Even though I dont agree with the way you express yourself about kids, I must respect your opinion. The same way I would expect you to respect the right of my kids to have a vacation.

Hi..=welcome to cruise @ddicts..there is a post below about kids on "Disappoinited in Princess"...for the least kids..book after the 2nd week of September..not on Thanksgiving,Christmas,New Years..and from 3rd week of February through May 15th..as all schools in the USA and Canada cycle breaks at those times AND now with the cruise ships going full summers through for 7 day sailings..it's prime KID TIME....with 7 day cruises that parents can drive to the port..you will have MORE kids..even with 7 day cruises to fly to San Juan you'll have kids as the frequent flier miles get cashed in..MY best advice..go on a 10 day or longer Princess cruise..They cannot be out of school for those prolonged sailings as much..Carnival and RCCL are renowned for being HEAVY kid ships..so Princess, then Celebrity,HAL, and Cunard for the least amount of kids..I can truthfully say I have NEVER had misbehaved kids or more than 35 kids on any of my Princess sailings in the last 10 years..:grin..but we hand pick our time..Good luck..we 've always been lucky the first 2 weeks of February..It only takes a few brat kids and dingbat parents to ruin it..sigh..I always hope for the best, expect the worst and have been blessed..we love our 5 kids..but they are grown up..:grin..and we cruise as a couple to enjoy our special times..Good Luck..take care..Post for more questions..:daisy..Joanne

Yes it was because of the post you mention that i made the enquiry. However I did not stop to consider that i may offend someone with children. And I so obviously have. I have sent a personal aplology to Anam. Horrid sprog is a common term here in England. I only hope it isn't a truly offensive term in the States. The last thing i would wish to do is to offend anyone.
