Hey everone,

My family and I are going on the Golden Princess on 5/23 and have questions about the ports. Since they are pretty exotic, compared to other cruises, I want to know what we can do to have the best time.

Itinerary includes:
--St. Thomas

--St. Kitts / Nevis

--Grenada

--Isla de Margarita

--Aruba

My questions:
-Any worthwhile Princess excursions?
-Since we would like to do stuff on our own whenever possible, mostly just nice beaches and relaxing stuff like that...what kind of beaches can be reach via taxi? cost?
-What would you stay away from?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Andy. My wife & I will be on the same cruise as you guys! We have a BC balcony on Baja deck (I think).

We have been to St Thomas & would highly recomend going to Trunk Bay to snorkel. It is beautiful! We did this one on our own the first time & had a rough time getting the ferry back from St Johns in the afternoon. There is only one & all the locals who ferry from St Thomas to St Johns to work were getting on the same sailing as we were & it was packed. There were a couple of fights breaking out. Meanwhile people on tours were escorted on board first so I decided right then to take the tours whenever possible. I can take care of myself but my wife is less than 5' tall & not even 100lbs so she almost got trampled! We really didn't save any money either so to us the tour is a safer bet. This time we have booked the snorkel catamaran tour, can't remember the name of it right now. It makes 2 snorkel stops.

We are going to take the Nevis Sail away tour while at St Kitts. I have read good things about this one. It makes a couple of snorkel stops & is 7 hrs as opposed to 3 or 4 hrs like most of the tours.

Not sure yet what we will do in Grenada.

Haven't heard many good things about isla de Margarita so am not expecting much.

I have heard Aruba has great snorkeling so we will probably be doing that. I may bring the golf clubs but am having a tough time pulling the trigger on $150+ for a round of golf!

If you see a 6'2" bald guy at the craps table losing his shirt, but still smiling & drinking, stop by & say hello!
