My husband and father-in-law were looking to book a tee time in Cozumel and Ocho Rios. Has anyone golfed these courses-if so-any comments on the conditions and challenge of these holes?
Can you book a tee time directly with the course or is it better to book it thru the cruise line?
Thank you in advance for any insite!!!!

My dh enjoys golfing. Can't help you on those locations, however, he books through the cruise line. In that way, you can get off the ship with the ship's pro for early tee times. The pro also seems to know everyone at the courses and makes for a friendly golf outing. The pro also takes care of the transportation so there's nothing left to do but enjoy your time.

My husband golfed in Cozumel at the country club and enjoyed it. Book through the cruise line. They were late getting back to the ship and so of course the ship waited for them.

I golfed at the Sandals Golf Course in Ocho Rios. It was a very nice course. You have to hire a caddy but you are still allowed to ride a cart. I can't remember the cost. We went thru the Ship for the excursion. I know some people had golfed in Cozumel and they said the course was not in very good shape. I did golf in Grand Cayman and the golf course was very nice. Very windy however do to the location near the ocean.

Definitely through the ship, as mentioned, the ship will wait for one of their excursions if you are running late. Which brings me to another point.....tell your DH and FIL to figure 5-6 hours at least for 18 holes. In my experience the pace of play in these places is a lot like the pace of life.....a lot slower than we are used to. I would not play again down there because waiting on every hole drives me crazy. If you don't mind the waiting, enjoy the scenery! Good luck....FORE!
