A very cold 18 degrees here this morning with snow on the roads it is slippery out there.
I only work half a day today because I have a medical appt this afternoon.
I was in bed at 8pm last night. The commute both ways to/from work yesterday just exhausting with the bad weather. And I think we all feel the stresses more because we are doing so much more because of trying to ready for the Holidays. There are so many people without electric power and living in cold temperatures without heat. I hope that the power can be restored soon to those areas hit with the ice storms.
Kaan keeps telling his teacher "Grammin, Mom's grey truck, Disney Store." :lol Audra told him I was coming to visit. And now that is all he can think about is a trip to the Disney Store with grammin. It is so great that he calls me grammin but all of his other grandmothers he calls grammy. It feels good to know that he in his own way thinks of me differently.
I found the best gift for Kaan after I had already finished shopping for the kids. A Toy Story radio controlled train on Ebay. They are out of production, this one new in the box they are collectors items now. Kaan will go wild he so loves that movie. Woody waves, Jessie yodels, the train conductor is Buzz lightyear who talks. Can't wait to see his face. Audra said it arrived yesterday. So all but one package has arrived. Now I have to even out the gifts again! LOL
Kaya is off the wall with excitement. Of course when he saw Santa at the Christmas Tree Lot he wanted to know why he looked different. :lol And Kalen just keeps telling me Santa toys grammy!
Kaya's birthday is in November. And he knows Christmas is right after his birthday. So for his birthday he got an Advent tree. Kaya puts one ornament a day on the tree counting down to Christmas. But there is one ornament that Audra told him when he puts that one on, it means Grammy Judy will arrive. He told me he is waiting to put that ornament on the tree. Audra says each day he asks can we put grammies ornament on now?
I bought Kiarra a pair of princess shoes from Disney to go with her Christmas dress. I gave them to her early because Audra wanted to have a picture taken. Well the shoes are little wedge heels on them. Audra said she looked so funny trying to walk in them and tried to take them back from her so she could return them afraid she'd break an ankle. Kiarra wasn't having any part of that and decided walking sideways in them was easier. rofl. Audra said she looks like a moose on ice skates walking in them. She keeps saying tippy toes! :grin I told Audra we all as kids have had plastic dress up shoes and made it through those silly things that Kiarra will be just fine! That child loves pretty shoes she is all girl.
I saw a great little thing at the Hallmark Store yesterday. It was a big Key about 6 or 8 inches long on a ring. On the key was inscribed, "Santa's secret key". I think I'll go back and buy it for the kids. They are always asking how Santa will get in the house. We can make a game out of it on Christmas Eve hanging it outside for Santa. A new little tradition.
Well that is about it on this end. One week from tonight I fly out to Boston and I pray the weather improves before then. We have another storm coming tomorrow night into Friday morning.
Have a great day everyone. Donna can't wait to hear what the kidlets did when DH surprised them yesterday.
