Well we had heavy rain mixed with hail and then some light snow in the night. No accumulation but now that the front has passed the news is showing snow in Denver. We aren't seeing anything yet. Boy what a temperature drop over 40 degrees overnight.

If the snow holds off here I am going to the mall. I threw so many sweaters away when I cleaned my closets that I need to buy some sweaters for under my suit jackets.

Other than that it is finish the laundry, do a little ironing and get the laundry put away. That is it!

Crock Pot is ready for a pot roast to go in and I bought lots of fruit to make a fruit salad so I need to do that also.

Later today Napcar and then the Red Sox on the agenda also. I'm sure Mike will watch the Broncos try to redeem themselves while I watch the Red Sox.

Everyone have a great day. Take some time for yourself.

Good Morning! It's bright sun and warm here today - in the mid 70's. I have all the windows open and the Sunday morning jazz playing on the radio. Made pancakes and bacon this morning for me and my girl - after a week without food I needed something decadent. Also made a double batch of oatmeal for dh - I doctor it up by adding dates, figs, ground flaxseed, honey and milk to it. Then I set it up in containers and he grabs it in the morning on his way out to work. My last task today is a big pot of chicken soup with sweet potatoes and oat groats (sound weird but are a great rice replacement). DH has high cholesterol levels so we are changing his diet around and adding whole grains & veggies. Thinking of making Salmon for dinner tonight - saw a great recipe on Just Cook This the other night. Whew - I seem to have tons of energy today. After all this it will be the Sunday paper and my crosswords.

Red Sox tonight!!!

Wow well I guess I won't be going out to the mall we are now having thunder snow. I'll grab some pictures later. And it is sticking! Yikes they say maybe about 3 inches. That is better than the feet that the mountains are getting. Right now the city has disappeared it is just black outside. Goodbye flowers until next spring. sighhhhh.

BJ please keep the thunder snow over there in Colorado. Wind is really fierce here this morning supposed to blow in some cold weather here by tomorrow. Meg those dishes all sound interesting maybe a little heavy on carbs for me. I have some good western swing music playing here and like you all of a sudden have energy. Keep warm BJ enjoy the breeze Meg. Beryl enjoy visit with mum and the crock pot stew.

Maw - Very high carbs unfortunately except for the salmon. I did low carbs for years but now with my health issues I have to eat carbs and no/low fiber. Enjoy your Sunday and your music.

Beryl - Stay warm and enjoy your visit with your Mom.

Judy - Hope the snow stays at 3 inches and not much more!

Enjoy Maw. The winds you are getting blew through here over the last few days and drew this storm in. Yuck. Can you believe yesterday I had every window open and it was 80 degrees. I hope you don't get the snow Maw.

Mike got the swamp cooler disconnected, drained and covered, did some roof shingle patching from shingles we lost in high winds, and got the heat tape on the water line yesterday. So we are pretty much just going to snuggle in today and be warm. I'm in my sweat pants and my big hooded Boston sweat shirt nice and warm. When the snow started coming down it was icy. Now it is more like regular snow. Chain laws are now in effect because the big rigs were slipping and sliding here by Table Mountain, the winds are dropping the temps so fast here. By the time the Broncos play tonight they say wind chill factor of 20 degrees. I think I'd stay home. :grin

Meg sounds good I'd love some pancakes. I'm on a diet plan though. I put on about ten pounds while on the prednisone a few weeks back and I already had too much weight on. Now I have to be good and I'm trying to eat well to boost my immune system. Lots of Veggies and fruits, I'm getting off the breads as much as I can ( I love my bread) and the sweets are limited too. And I only allow myself one Coke a day now. The rest of the time it is OJ mixed with club soda or water. So breakfast this morning was yogurt. That's OK it cures the sweet cravings and it good for me because I can't eat most dairy.

Beryl enjoy your dinner with Mom. After the pot roast for dinner today I will turn the leftovers into beef stew.

Go Red Sox.

Judy - If I could lose that prednisone weight for you I would. I dropped 5 lbs overnight again so I had to eat this morning - believe it or not this is not a blessing. My doctor told me that he keeps me at 20 lbs over my goal weight because when I get sick I drop 10 lbs in a day or two. Hang in there - that weight will go. Probably a good thing not to have too much sweets - sugar is evil.

I love a good Greek yogurt like Total - have you tried that? It's thicker than regular yogurt and makes great dips or with fruit.

Yummmmmm pot roast and beef stew. If it was cooler here I'd be making that too. Tomorrow night I think I will roast a big chicken and make the big supper - chicken, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce for my dd and dh who are both working alot of overtime lately.

Enjoy your afternoon! I bet it's pretty if you are inside and warm.

No Meg I have never tried that yogurt I will have to look for it.

It is pretty here although I would prefer no snow ever again! :lol

Do what the doctor says Meg you have a different situation that most of us and have to keep the weight on. I have been miserable with the weight because nothing fits right. And going into winter when we tend to be less active I need to get it off plus some. So I'm really trying. Plus I don't always eat well so this week I bought healthy foods and very little indugence food. :grin

Enjoy your day........

Good morning all! We've been to church this AM, and are trying to coordinate everyone's nap for family pictures this afternoon. Wish us luck.

Keep the snow out your way, Judy! THe sun is shining here, but it is windy here, too, Maw.

Take care all!
