Well it is only 6:00am and I'm on my first cup. I have lots to finish up on today and have to get an early start.

Yesterday was pretty productive but I haven't even begun to pack. And as I look at the things I bought yesterday to take home, add a couple of containers of cookies, I think I may need two suitcases. eiy yi yi. Traveling with 2 suitcases is a bit much when you are traveling alone. I'll have to see where I am once I begin to pack.

After my shopping spree yesterday I came home and mixed up a double batch of my secret recipe chocolate chip cookies and put the dough in the fridge for baking today. Mike requested them but my SIL loves them too so I will take some home. I'll whip up a second batch later and bake up some peanut butter bars also.

We have grocery shopping to do today also so that is on the agenda for early.

I did get all of Mike's Birthday and Christmas gifts wrapped. I have one photog book that should be delivered on Monday or Tuesday that I will wrap before I leave.

I'm looking at the weather back east. Mom was supposed to fly into Boston from Pittsburg tomorrow but is unsure if she will make it out. If not, I'm sure she will get out Tuesday. We spoke yesterday and did some planning for our Sunday, Christmas as a family with Gram and everyone there. There is too much confusion for a big sit down meal so we usually do a buffet. And I generally do all the cooking! :grin

The temperatures are supposed to get up to 40 today. Whoo hoo a virtual heat wave. :lol We have had very cold temps for two weeks which is very unusual here. We generally will have warm days. Right now the wind is whipping about 30 mph creating ground blizzards.

Audra hadn't even started her baking as of yesterday. I said get with it kiddo. I know when I arrive I will be helping her get her cookies baked for the teacher's gifts and rememberance gifts for neighbors etc. I have to go to the dollar store today maybe I'll look for some little containers to make the packaging easier.

I won't even get to Audra's house until about 2am on Thursday. I Will probably catch a couple of hours sleep and be on the run to the Disney Store with the kids on Thursday. And not one gift is wrapped back there so it will be my job to get it all wrapped each night after the kids are sleeping. Christmas Eve we will have tons of stuff to put together. I'm going to need a week off when I return. :lol :lol But I'm really looking forward to this time with Audra and the kids. Audra is stuck in the house with the kids 24/7 and having me there gives her a little breather and we get to keep the traditions going that she so loves. We start out wrapping very fancy gifts and then generally by 2am the tape is slapped on and the paper is on and that is how it goes! :lol :lol

I think we are all getting together to buy my Mom a digital camera. So I will have to pick that up when I'm there. And then I have only little odds and ends and gift certificates to pick up. The men on my list are the toughest. They may all get gloves this year if I can't find something else! :lol

Oh Santa why I forgot to request roller skates I don't know but do you have a spare pair you can deliver to MA early for me? =lolgang

So that is about it here on this end. I have a busy busy day ahead of me. Work only 2 1/2 days this week yippppppeeeeeee. So what is on your agenda? How is your shopping going? And your Holiday Dinner? Are you almost there?

Good morning, Judy...sounds like you are making good progress, and it will all come together for your trip back East.

About that secret chocolate-chip cookie recipe?? How secret is it? Willing to share?

Last night, I made a batch of cashew-caramel bars, from a winning recipe in the newspaper. They are very good, but rich. Now to keep some of them hidden for the party next weekend.

We are in the midst of a major snow storm here, and so far looks like about 6 inches out there. It won't end until tonight, so all in all, we will be in some deep snow!

DD & gang drove over to Kal. for her brother's big party last night. They called to say they made it okay, but now to worry about them getting home. Today is the bad day. She said, "don't worry, I have 4-wheel drive"....oh yes, now I'm not worried.....yeah, right...

So, off to a day of dealing with the snow tonnage, then more baking later.

Have a good day all!

Good morning Ladies - from a very bitter "it feels like" 21 degrees. The wind is howling out side and we are getting a few spits of snow every once in a while.

BostonJ - It sure sounds like you have a lot on your plate. But it will all be worth it once you get home and see all of those smiling faces. I wish you a wonderful time spent with your family.

reggae - Good luck with the snow and safe travels your DD & gang to get home.

Today - I am doing Nothing!! :) My sons graduation from college and subsequent party afterwards went great yesterday. We had about 50 people here at the house from Noon until around 9 PM...my legs were killing me by the time the last one walked out the door. I have every thing cleaned up and put away except for one pan. D still has to vacuum and mop, and then he is done. It was well worth the effort. Our son wore his mortar all night long, and put his gown on many, many times for pictures. We got a picture of him with every single guest that came. That in itself was a small feat, but oh so worth it.

Happy Sunday C@'s - be safe and have a wonderful day!!

Oh Patty I hope DD is OK. Maybe they should just spend the night and do it after the storm clears. Sounds like you are getting a good winter storm!

I hope everyone stays safe in the bad weather! That storm was a slow mover here but appears that it really took off once it left us!

I never realized the Killian too knows about the suitcase. Pheobe and Woobie would actually crawl into the suitcase as if to say NO Way you aren't going without me! Yesterday Killian was moping and following me around the house. I think he knows he is being left behind and very upset! Mike will take good care of him but he is really attached to me since Pheobe passed.

My work party last night was fun, we had a good time, I won a drawing of 20.00 cash again, like last year and it paid for our minimal drinks as Mark was DD and I had worked and was whumped.. dinner was fabulous prime rib, and dancing to a DJ was fun too.. we got home by 10:30, and the snow held off till after 3AM..=eek,
and it is a super huge storm, slowed down for now, but due to re-start and slam again..sigh..I know the ski areas are in bliss, but YUCK..:(..

Good Afternoon everyone! It is really storming away here - sleet, freezing rain and wind gusts over 50 mph here along the shore. My apartment is having a tough time warming up today and I have shoved a blanket over the front door and blocked the bottom of the door to keep the draft from the hallway out.

Sounds like everyone is getting ready for the holiday. We got the tree up and in the stand yesterday but not decorated. I made a chocolate fondue with things to dip yesterday and chocolate covered jo-jo's (peppermint filled oreo cookies). Had a great time at our Holiday party yesterday and I am tired today. I have more shopping on Tuesday, a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and I need to wrap everything and bake all the holiday goodies plus food shop. Both my people (dd and dh) are working 6 days with overtime so I don't know when this will get done but it will - it always does.

DD just left for the second time to try to get to work - I am really annoyed that her employer is expecting her to commute in this weather - god forbid a retail environment close during bad weather. :X I hope she can get there since the buses are not running and we are not sure about the T. OOPS - she is back and now is going to have to call the local cab company and wait the hour+ for them to pick her up. On days like this I am thankful that I do not have to go anywhere.

Hope it's a good day for everyone and those of you in stormy weather -stay safe.

Meg

Good afternoon Afters. Well our snow finally stopped and even tho it is only 28 outside, the sun is shining so the snow is melting off the trees and my porch. I didn't get photos yesterday for some reason, and today there is not much pretty left. We got about 9 inches, but for us that was a blizzard! They cancelled our services this morning, so I slept in again.

You all have so much energy. I got some laundry done and some old things cleaned out of my freezer and that is enough work for one day, lol. Hope you all have a good Sunday, cc
