Got Milk?

I have seen the lists of free drinks and was just wondering if they service milk with dinner if you request it? If they charge for this, does anyone know of the cost?

Milk is free but it is a little bit of a hassle to get. In the dining room you just ask the waiter. In the buffet lines you have to ask someone behind the line to get it for you. Usually the only person back there is the one serving/slicing the meat. Milk is what my kids like to drink and no matter how many times they went up and asked for it the people were nice. Another thing we did was to take many extras at breakfast when the cartons are out and available and put them in the fridge in our room for later.

Lori,
Thanks for the information! The breakfast/frig things sound like a plan too.

I am a big milk drinker, so I would order 3 or 4 "milks" from room service and they would deliver that many cartons of it COLD at no charge since room service is free. I never waited more than 5 minutes for it. I also found it set out at the buffet area with the deserts. Hope this helps.

I am going on the glory on nov. 15. On the whole beverage issue, what is free? Where can we get the free stuff? I heard something about a fountain card. Is that good only for soda pop or is it good for beer too? How much are the various beverages? I was also wondering how much cash would be good for taking on the cruise?

How much cash to take on the cruise...? TWICE as much as you think you will need!

What I know about the drinks, my friend who was just on Glory last week has told me...

The Fountain cards: This is for Soda/ Pop ONLY. It was 30 something dollars. This is not from a fountain at all, she stated that if the bar tender has a can open from doing someones drink that they just pour it into a cup for you. They weren't happy at the bar when she tried to use it. It's because they can't put a tip on it like they will with your Sign and Sail card.

Free drinks: Lemonade, Ice Teas, Apple and Orange juice at breakfast. Now we know Milk too. ;) I'm not sure where the free drinks are, but they are located through out the ship.

The money part, no clue, my first cruise, but I think that Camelia's idea is correct. ;)

The Lido deck has multiple self serve areas for coffee, ice tea, apple juice, water, lemonade (no Beer, sorry) etc.. Soda is obtained by going to the bars and using your soda card. Unless you are really into soda, you will save time, money and probably teeth by not getting the card.

As for as cash to bring on broad with you it depends. You will need a credit card to activate your sail & sign card or else you will have to put down a cash deposit. Me and my wife can normally get by for under five hundred dollars but we don't spend much time in the casino. I always find a way to get my own booze on broad and don't care for soft drinks (you can drop a small fortune on drinks on a seven day cruise!). You can get by for as little as $50 bucks for your shore excursions if you just want a good tour and book it yourself, again it depends on what you like to do and can afford. Deside what you want to spend on shopping and gambling. The cruise line will be taking lots of pictures and there not cheap. You can literally spend nothing or thousands.

eruceht,
How do you get your booze on board? Any helpful hints as to not getting caught?
How do I get a shore excursion booked myself or does anyone have any hot spots to go to and details for Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten?

If you want the soda card, and good service...pick a few bars in the ship the first day and introduce yourself and tip the bartender. They will be glad to help you when you show up with your card! If you have children on board with cards, take a minute to introduce them as well, and teach them proper manners for ordering their drink. It amazed me that children would walk up to a bar and start banging the card on the bar to get service!!!!!

We tip the waitress in the lido rest. the first day also, and they usually go out of there way to help, last time she would see me coming and have my coffee and my sons milk ready for me when I arrived! These people work for tips, they will go out of their way if they know you appreciate it. ($$)

The waiter at dinner always had milk ready for my son also, after the first night..he knew to have it there.

There is an entire string of posts in "know before you go" about getting booze on board.

Money, this depends on your gambling habit, your shopping need, and your drinking ability. Take what you can afford to spend, you will enjoy yourself at any level of spending. Our first cruise we took $500.00 the most recent we spent about $2500.00.
Both trips were great!

Have fun!
