Granada - Seven Sisters Waterfalls

My wife and I are cruising on the Dawn Princess on Nov. 30. One of our Stops is in Granada. We have booked the "Hike to Seven Sisters Waterfalls" excursion through Princess. The on-line brochure states that the trail is pretty muddy. Our question is: what kind of shoes should we wear? We both have hiking boots and sports sandals. We would prefer to wear the sports sandals because we would be more apt to wear those at another point during our trip. If anyone has done this excursion or another excursion to Seven Sisters Waterfalls, we would appreciate any input.
