Hi:

I wanted to spend some time at 7 Mile Beach, and wondered which hotels had
any day use packages that were worthwhile.

Thanks a lot for your input!

Regards, Ned

I am not sure where we went. The ship had an excursion for $16 per person that included a chair, umbrella and 2 drinks. You got your own cab for an additional $ 3 per person. I remember reading that all beaches are public so we just took the cab to the same location the excursion was going. I think we passed a public entrance on the way there but it was a ways back so we went in where the excursion was going and saved $3 per person by doing it on our own. The beach was crowded.

Save yourself some time and money....when you get off the tender in GC, walk to the taxi/bus stand right in front of the tender station.... it'll cost you $ 5/pp to go to the public beach...the beach is free and they have a concession stand and facilities. 7 mile beach is just that, 7 miles long....and all the beach is as beautiful as the next part....

Hotel beach bars and the public beach bar are expensive....keep in mind, GC is not a third world economy......nothing is really cheap in GC...

I agree with the above poster. :thumb

Get off the ship and walk over to one of the people holding up signs for "Public Beach". For $6 pp we were taken to a free public beach that had a little restaurant, bathrooms, water sports (for a fee). When you were ready to leave, you just go back to where they left you and get on one of the minivans for another $6. They'll bring you back to the center of town where you got on.

You can see all the cruise ships from the beach.
