Hi everyone

We're booked on the Navigator 11th August to go round Med, and are taking our 10 and 12 year old boys. We have booked a Grand Suite. Has anyone any experience of these on Navigator? Will the room be big enough and is there any sort of curtain/partition that can be pulled across? Its not clear from the basic photos on the RCC websire?

I also understand that the Grand Suite gives access to a lounge. Is this anything special?

Thanks

Marc

We had a GS(1574) on the NV a few years back.....heres a few pics(pre-new bedding)........yes, there is a curtain to draw acrosss and I would think it is big enough for your family of four...If the boys dont mind sharing a sofa bed.......

The concierge lounge will be available for you since you're in a GS.....free coffee(regular, cappuchino, espresso),tea, hot chocolate is free all day in there.......in the morning, continental breakfast along with juices.......night time.......free drinks and hor d'horves from 5-8(NO kids allowed in there during this time)......there is also a selection of DVDs and Cds you can borrow from here to use in your cabin....

The concierge themselves can help you with reservations(speciality dining room, shore excursion, ice shows, spa treatments,etc)....if you have any concerns or questions,he or she is there to help you(they will be in there for part of the morning and again at night).

You will receive a special key in your stateroom when you board. This will open up the concierge lounge since it is locked 24/7....You will also receive personalized stationary in your cabin from the concierge.

Click on this pic to open up some more......

We had a Grand Suite when our sons were those ages. Although they didn't like the size of the sofa bed, the rest of the cabin was fine as far as space goes.

We really do prefer two adjoining balcony cabins vs. one suite, but the suite perks are kind-of nice. If your kids are used to sleeping together, then there shouldn't be a problem, but for us, the "You have all the sheets!", "You have more bed!" arguing got old. =dunno

Good feedback thank you. The kids will be fine sleeping together. We elected for a GS give the discount offered for the boys' fare - whereas this appears to be unavailable when they have their own cabin. P&O were the worst/unaccomodating for the kids prices; RC and NCL made more effort.

Thanks again

You're right - you have to weigh the costs carefully. Most often, it is cheaper to get a suite than 2 balcony cabins.

Enjoy! :wave
