Grand Turk port of call with Carnival

Hi there. Just had someone say they'd heard horrible things about this port. Wondering if someone has been there recently with Carnival - and if so, please tell me there is something good there? Nice beaches etc? I hear only about the poverty etc.

I was there a few years ago on the Westerdam(HAL). It was just starting as a cruise stop for the Carnival Family back then.there is a beautiful beach as soon as you are off the ship. The beach is facing the ship, you couldn't ask for a better view. I heard there is a surfing pool similer to the ones on Royal Carribean. There are souviner shops and a nice bar and a swimming pool near by!! I would go back if I had the chance
