I apologize in advance if this quetion has been asked a hundred times, I am fairly new to the board... We are cruising on the Conquest in Sept, if the ship is still in Gulfport what is the best way to get to the airport. Our flight is at 1:30, do we take the shuttle back to New Orleans, will they have shuttles right to the airport from Gulfport...etc...??? We were told that if I booked this time for a flight we'd be okay, that was back in Jan. Now just alittle concerned that it might be too close in time.

Thanks

We sailed on Conquest in March on the first trip she made out of Gulfport. We also had a 1:30 flight home from New Orleans airport.

Since you have a flight beofre 2pm, you will be able to get VIP passes from the purser's desk (you have to show your flight tickets to prove the departure time) and this allows you to be among the first set of passengers allowed to disembark the ship. We took the bus that Carnival had there for us directly to the airport. It is about a one hour and fifteen minute trip from Gulfport to the airport. We had LOTS of time once we got to the airport.

Conquest is a great ship. I am sure you will have a wonderful cruise!

The Conquest is due back in NOLA in June. The Mississippi River should be below 13 feet by then. Either way NOLA or Gulfport, a 1:30 flight should be easy to make if there are no unforeseen events to delay you. As Sunshine said it is only about 1 to 1 1/2 hours from Gulfport to the airport, and shuttles will be waiting for you..

My only problem is that we did not buy transfers with Carnival. I don't know maybe we could still buy them if need be. We come in on the Saturday before we sail, meeting up with some friends, so we decided to do the transfers ourself. Don't know, if the ship ends up back in NO there won't be any problems...we'll wait and see.
