Try this..

Have Skagway Air Service pick you up in Haines.. they can take you on a  glacier tour and deliver you to  Skagway in one hour total time.. and fly you back to Haines in time to catch your ship.. The return takes about 30 minutes..

Will that give you enough time to take the train ride?
