New Halloween Promotion from Carnival Offers 'Frightfully Fun' Time
08/22/2006

MIAMI (August 22, 2006) – Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s largest cruise operator, and Masterfoods USA, one of America’s leading snack food manufacturers, have teamed up for a unique Halloween promotion where guests sailing aboard the “Fun Ships†can participate in costume contests, enjoy scary movies and “ghost stories†and, of course, go trick or treating for a seemingly endless array of Halloween goodies.

The new “Frightfully Fun†promotion will be held on every “Fun Ship†cruise departing between October 9-31, 2006.

“Halloween has always been a festive time aboard Carnival’s ships and our new ‘Frightfully Fun’ promotion goes a step beyond traditional Halloween activities, providing guests of all ages with an exciting and creative way to celebrate this popular holiday, ‘Fun Ship’-style,†said Bob Dickinson, Carnival president and CEO.

Highlighting the festivities will be a costume contest and parade where “Fun Ship†guests can dress up in their favorite costume and compete for a variety of prizes, including “M&M’Sâ€Ââ Character plush toys.

Crew members throughout the fleet will be dressed in costume, as well, and guests can have their photo taken with their favorite “M&M’Sâ€Ââ Character.

Kids aged one to 14 will be invited go trick or treating through the ships’ various public lounges and areas, stocking up on a variety of delicious Masterfoods USA Fun Size candies, including “M&M’Sâ€Ââ Milk Chocolate, “M&M’Sâ€Ââ Peanut, SNICKERSâ and SKITTLESâ.

For additional information on the â€Årightfully Fun†promotion and for reservations on Carnival’s “Fun Ship†cruises, contact any travel agent, call 1-800-CARNIVAL or visit carnival.com.

Masterfoods USA is a division of Mars, Incorporated, and is headquartered in Hackettstown, N.J.

I will be on this same cruise 10-29. Taking hubby for birthday as well as having our anniversary a little early, nov.22. They will be doing halloween on board the ship. Costumes are already packed, lol. I have spoken with a few others going on this cruise, and many are going to meet up at the sail away party. Close to the band stand on lido deck. You are welcome to join in the fun.

Halloween was a hoot. A lot of people dressed up and a good time was had by all.If anyone else who was at the costume contest, I was the pumpkin, didn't win but felt like a winner to just get chosen for the final 15 on stage.
The cruise was great. Only thing that happened to us was our first shore exursion, St Thomas, was canceled due to who knows what. They said cancelled because of tec difficulties. I think a truck broke down so a handful of people didn't get to go. I was one of those unlucky people. No problem..lot's of shopping just off the ship. The rest of the ports are wonderful and I would recomend this cruise to anyone. I found no problems with rude people or the a/c. I will be writting my review shortly. I would sail this ship again. Too bad no more aruba on the itinerary starting Jan. 2007.

Aruba was the best- After spending a few hours we decided that a cruise in 2008 is not for us but spending a week in Aruba will be the best for us.
Simply beautiful. Cant wait til 2008

I couldn't agree more, Aruba was the best. Did a tour then went to beach on our own and used the public bus system. Just a note... Make sure when returning to the ship that it is not during the 5 to 6 pm rush hour. Busses fill up fast with locals trying to get home from work. Found this out as 3 full busses passed us up. We walked back to the dock... took 45 min from eagle beach. Got all the exercise I needed this day.
