Halloween on the Summit

Has anyone been on Celebrity during Halloween? We will be on her and wondered if they have any kind of party or if people try to "dress" for halloween. We want to be prepared but don't want to take extra things if we are not going to use them.

I have been on NCL and Carnival, but never Celebrity, on Halloween. Both times, there was nothing in the cruise documents suggesting a Halloween party on board. However, passengers brought costumes ranging from the perfunctory to the elaborate. On both ships, the costumed folks congregated in the disco for a party. I "think" it had been announced in the daily program, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, if I'm ever cruising on Oct 31, I'll bring a costume.

I see from your itinerary that you're in Aruba the day AFTER Halloween. I was in Aruba on Halloween once, and yes, they do celebrate it there.

We chave been on the Millenium the sister ship to the Summit and they had a costume party on Halloween. At least 40 couples were dressed in costumes and it was a great late night party.

My wife and I were on last year's 10 day Summit which left of 10/31/03. I guess because halloween was the day we left port I only saw 70-80 people in costumes. Probably an equal number of staff were dressed for the holiday. Not sure but about 50% of that cruise were European passengers and I really don't know if they even observe that day in any manner. Anyway if Halloween falls within your 10 day timeframe I'm sure there will be a number dressed up. That may not happen though in 10/31 falls on one of the Formal nights onboard. Good luck the Summit was a 9.5 out of 10 and we hope to sail her again.
