Have I made a mistake?

I have been on approximately seven Carnival cruises (loved all of them) and one RCL (did not like it). I have made reservations on NCL-Dream for December, but what with all of the negative reviews I keep reading, especially with the new posting yesterday, I am beginning to think I have made a huge mistake. Especially since (1) I cancelled the Carnvial Glory for NCL and (2) I just received my NCL tickets last night!

Please, can someone, anyone, please tell me I didn't make a mistake - and that possibily only groaners feel the need to write reviews?

Thanks a bunch!

Ella, only when you cruise will you know if you made a mistake. I personally have not been on the Dream, but don't let Izzy's experience scare you or make you too nervous. If you read her detailed report and then another on CC you will get 2 totally different views. A too long embarkation, followed by flea bites and what she preceives as no A/C (wasn't there, don't know) would sour anyone on a ship. Then add to it her problems with getting seated, which normally is not a problem may cause small inconveniences to be blown into major nightmere situations. A cruise is what you make it. We too, have had bad cruises on RCL, but choose not to voice them quite so loudly as any cruise can be less than perfect regardless of the line. You like Carnival, I consider them to be a nothing line; nothing bad, nothing good, just a ship, but that is my opinion. Go with an open mind and you will come back smiling, go with a closed mind and you will be sorry you spent your money.

Plus one more thought...............the more you cruise/travel the greater opportunity you have for things to eventually go wrong. Not every cruise or travel plan is going to be perfect. All you can do is make the best out of every situation. Try to stay away from negativity, it only puts you in a negative frame of mind. And remember, a review is only one persons view. Remember that at any given time there are 2000+/- other cruisers on a ship, which means 2000+/- other views to consider.

I know how you feel. We are booked on the Dec. 28th sailing and are a little concerned. But only a little. Last Christmas we sailed on the NCL Majesty. We heard some negative things about it too, but had a wonderful time. I'm most concerned about the parking situation as we'll be driving. We'll just have to wait and see, but alot of it is what you make of it. Anyway we are off to a good start, we just got our tickets yesterday and recieved a 9 catagory upgrade on our cabin. Good Luck!!!!

not that this helps any but boarding an NCL cruise your second third forth .....time only takes seconds. as I have said before I have really enjoyed all my carnival cruises would not hesitate booking another but I do enjoy NCL more for the things they do that you would not expect makes all the differance to me. Like their BBQ on the open deck on a sea days I love it.

You are all so right - as long as I go on vacation with a positive attitude - everything will be fine! Besides, the reviews have dramatically improved over the month of November - including reviews found on cruisecritic.com!

No worries - thanks all!
