I've been MIA for a while here, and I just wanted to say "Hi" to my friends on the board.

We returned from a wonderful cruise on the Navigator with lots of family and friends. It was very memorable, and I'll post a review story later for anyone interested.

I returned home and things got a little hectic. I'm experiencing some difficulties with my ongoing "physical" reconstruction. But we are working with it, and trying to keep things on track, so that I can have my final surgery in February.

Then, this year is my turn to have the family Christmas Party. Problem is our family is a minimum of 25 people (I have too many sisters and brothers!!). So we are trying to get the house in order for the party.

Since there will be so many here, we are setting up the basement for more room....and what happens?????

DH decided that the ceiling in the basement needed to be replaced! So he ripped out all of the old ceiling so that he can put in all the recessed lighting and start the drywalling.

YIKES...why does he do this to me! :flog I have about a week before the party, and the whole basement is torn apart. :sniper I think he loves to be under pressure, and he loves causing panic around here! :devil I'm getting too old for this! =hammer

Okay....I'm calm now....

So after the party, I will have some quiet time....

DH is going to the U.P. for a week of snowmobiling. DS is heading for a week of snowboarding in Colorado (more grey hairs)....DD will be doing mandatory flying, probably overseas for the holiday's.

I'm trying to catch up on the board when I get a little free time...
Thinking about all of you....

hope Elliott's health is continuing to improve,
Kathy, hope your husband gets some answers soon.
Judy...soon you'll be with those little angels in Boston
Hucc and all the east-coasters...don't get buried in the snow!
Karry...my friend, thanks for the email.
cc...just took a peak at the latest Simon pics, so cute!

Everyone else....hope all your holiday plans are coming together, and I have to say I really missed all of you!!

Welcome home, Reggae. Sorry to see you're having some physical problems, but I hope they'll be solved quickly and easily.

Tell your DH that Santa Claus is going leave coal in his stocking if he doesn't behave himself! :lol

.

G'day reggae, nice to see you. :) I am glad you had a wonderful cruise.

Why do husbands do those things? Mine is guilty also. I hope your DH gets the job finished soon.

I'm sure your DH will get it all together for you & you'll have a great family get together but if he doesn't then he owes you another cruise after your final surgery! I hope with my DH going to U of I Clinic that we will get some answers soon. Don't be a stranger and hope things go well for you in Feb.

Glad to hear you had a wonderful cruise Reggae and welcome back. Hope your health issues iron themselves out so you can continue with the surgery in Feb. Keeping you in the prayers on that!

LOL my cousin's husband did something similar...two weeks before their daughter's wedding he tore the ceiling out of the livingroom to re-dry wall due to some cracks. He never did finish it in time. Luckily it wasn't a "home" wedding but she did have family in-and-out and the house was a MESS. Good luck but be glad you have a hubby that can do these things....Leatherneck is NOT into home repair and we pair dearly because of that :lol :lol

Looking forward to seeing more of you.

Thanks for the good wishes...

Hucc...after 32 years with this guy, I should be used to this. But that rent-a-husband sounds really tempting!

Denise...yes, since he is a carpenter, he can do these things...but you know the story about the shoemaker, whose children have no shoes??? Our house always comes last :(

Welcome back!!! My DH is the same....this year he decided to clean out all the attics (we have 3!) that I have been PILING stuff in for the past 25 years =grrr In 2005 he decided it was time to rip up the rugs in the ENTIRE DOWNSTAIRS and have the floors varnished and stained...and since we were doing that anyway, might as well have the walls painted first. Problem was I had 2 major surgeries; one on 12/9 and one on 12/22 and this was all started at the beginning of December. I had furniture piled all over the kitchen and our bedroom, plus Christmas shopping, wrapping, running to and from drs. for pre-adm testing and then surgeries....oh, and I worked 10 hours/day too! And then had 17 people over on Xmas Eve for a big dinner. :dizzy Don't know how I did it now, but it always does work out, and it makes for a funny story to tell YEARS LATER :lol wishing you a very very happy holiday season. I am sure everything will be very memorable and special, and I think it's so fantastic you have such a big family that you are close to. Just remember how much you have to be thankful for. Circle a date on the calendar in red and tell DH: THIS is when everything has to be DONE, or ELSE! :pistols =hug

Hi Reggae, glad to see you back again. Yes, Simon is getting huge, my little lost kitten is a guy guy now.

Say, if your hubby doesn't get it done, you could always hand each guest a hammer as they walk in. Make it a carpentry party, lol. cc
