Hello - Heading to Bermuda on the Summit

I have just found this forum and wanted to say hello.

My family is heading to Bermuda on Sunday and wanted to see if anyone has taken this on the Celebrity Summit.

We have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean and most recently on Norwegian.

We have loved all the cruises and from what I have read I think we will love the Summit.

Thanks for all the post with great information.

I haven't been on that particular ship but have frequented the Infinity. It's a large ship but it feels smaller fortunately. As all M class ships are basically the same I'm sure you will find the Summit just fine.

Bermuda is a great spot to visit. You will be docked kinda in the middle of nowhere because of the size of the Summit but using the water taxi's and buses you can get around really quickly. Make sure you get a "PASS" for the water taxi's. Buses are easy to use also and the routes are well marked. Pink into Hamilton and Blue out..or is it visa versa ??

Scooters are everywhere so be careful. Especially if you rent one.

Passes available on the ship and of course in Bermuda. I would compare $$ on ship to land and then make a purchase.

Some things to do ashore:

Do the Zoo and Aquarium in Flatts Village
Shelly bay beach if you are taking kids: pink sand, shallow calm warm waters and a huge playground, with drinks, 'brellas, chairs, sundries easily to hand.
Your St. Georges and do some shopping while you are there; lots of bargains.
Ditto Hamilton.
Leave Dockyard shops for last (overpriced and poor selection)
Ride buses and ferries whenever possible.
Ya-Ya Sisterhood's favorite beach is Royal Cove just off Horseshoe Beach on southeast coast, if the Hurricane hasn't washed 'em away.
BTW, Summit is a true jewel of the Celebrity fleet; you will be pampered silly.

Don't forget the Swizzle Inn...near the Crystal Caves and order a Dark and Stormy or Rum Punch.. chowder, huge fish sandwich and chicken wings..yummy.. If you write to me I'll send you the hottest review just printed by my friends who just came back from the Summit.. parrotmom@verizon.net DO NOT RENT A SCOOTER...I'VE BEEN to Bermuda 12 times and have always come back on a ship with people who have a "road tan" or broken bones....seriously.. and lets not talk about the injurie where ambulances are waiting for us to dock
