Help! First cruise, cabin near disco?

Hi all!

We recently booked our very first cruise and I'm really excited. But I'm a little concerned about our cabin location. We booked an Ocean View Stateroom on RCI "Explorer of the Seas" and were given a cabin on deck 3 where the theatres are. It also appears to be right near the dance club (We were told that the only cabins left in this category were on this deck.)

Can anyone give me some helpful advice? Is there any chance this might not be as bad as it sounds?!

The deck plan is here: http://www.royalcarib.com/rcldeck/rclexplorer_3.html

I believe the only nightclub that stay open past 12:30 AM is the viking lounge. The bars and casino are open later but they don't play music as loud as the night clubs. The theatre only has shows around 7:00 and 9:00. So you shouldn't worry too much. Unless you planned on going to sleep around 10 PM. If that is the case, I would invest in a good pair of ear plugs. :)D

Some ships have their "disco" in the Viking Crown Lounge...while other ships such as the Explorer which the OP is going on,has the disco on deck 3......it is pretty well sound proof and insulated.....you cant even hear the music from outside the door....

I'd still pay a little extra and distance myself from the disco. To me, it would be worth the extra $s to not have to worry about noise......which you already are.
