We like to stay at the Holiday Inn at Biscayne Bay at 345 Biscayne Blvd. It's across the street from The Biscayne Market Place. Lots of shops, places to eat, boat tours and music evenings on the bay. From the hotel you can see the ships docking across the bay. Five minute taxi ride and around a $10.00 fare. There are a few big newer hotels close but more expensive. Let them know about how many rooms needed. We got a discount for booking more rooms. Somewhere around $145.00 a night. Have a good cruise

I have taken two different cruises from Miami in recent years. I have always had good luck in using Priceline. They have a section where you name your own price. I got a room on the 32nd floor, views of the inter-coastal, 4 star hotel (Inter-Continental) for 99.00 nite. As I recall, most boats leave on Saturdays or Sundays. You can book these upscale "Business" hotels for less because it's a weekend. Try Hotels.com and Orbitz also. Good Luck and have a wonderful time on your cruise!

I second the Holiday Inn, we were upgraged to a suite for FREE!! They will have PLENTY of Taxis that take you to the pier. I forget how much the Taxi was, but I think it was around $10-$15 for a minivan for 4 adults.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn twice. It's so convenient being walking distance to the Biscayne Bay Market place. They have great restaurants and shops and as Deno said, they have a live band that plays down by the bay in the evenings. It's a great way to spend the pre-cruise evening.

I posted the following in the Hotels forum as I have a similar inquiry and have seen no responses:

My wife and I will be leaving from Miami in September. As we are in Nevada, we plan to fly in a day early and I am looking for a hotel. I have seen many suggestions; however, when I check reviews, Embassy Suites Miami International Airport seems to come out on top. From what I've seen, the property looks nice and I see many positive reviews.

Can anyone tell me anything about this property? I am especially wondering about:

1- Any transportation from MIA airport to hotel?
2- Any transportation from hotel to cruise terminal?
3- Can we see the pier from the hotel?
4- How is neighborhood?

Lastly, would people recommend this hotel or are there others (in the same price range) you would suggest?

The airport is a good 20 min drive from the pier. You would not be able to see the pier. We stayed at a hotel near the airport post cruise in December. It was nice but there was nothing close as far as eating or just killing time. You had to drive. We looked into taking a cab to the Biscayne Bay Market Place and the cost was just out of the question.
