If you look at the Aloha deck on the Grand princess, catagory II, the inside cabins, pink colored rooms, you will see A517 and a couple near it that appear larger than all the other rooms, but they are NOT handicap rooms. Is that an error? You will see on the same deck, that there are two other rooms on the side like that that are the smaller size. Are these rooms bigger? Does anyone know?

Just booked this room. It is 182 square feet, versus the room I was in before which was 160 square feet. Please look at the Aloha deck on the Grand Princess. Look at room A517 catagory I, inside mid ship. The room is laying on the side,. My husband said for $20 more we should take it for the size. My question to you now is, is the layout of this room going to be really strange since it is laying on the side? not that I mind, just curious since all my last 6 cruises have been normal rooms other than my suite on the Carnival Destiny. Also, the room is directly below the pool. Do you hear them when the fill and empty the pools? Thanks for your help once again.

Considering all the indecision you seem to have about cabin location, noise, etc., I wonder if you should think some more about even taking this particular cruise.

Can't comment on noise of pools, but layout should not be really strange. You probably won't notice that it is different.
