Need some advice on our first balcony. It will be me, dh, dd 16 and we have always gone inside. DH said a window would just pi** him off! We are planning on sailing the conquest in august. Are there any suggestions on where balcony should be located ? We will probably get an 8A, but don't want to be above where doors open to the outside on the lower decks. I just don't know where these doors would be located as it doesn't show them on the deck plans. Pros and cons on movement , noise , etc. We always have booked our assigned cabin mid ship, so dont know about the vibration in aft. Any help will be appreciated! Ps how much pp should we expect to spend pp for this time of year?

If ya want bigger---go towards the aft. We booked 7434 on the Liberty-- Same class as Conquest.

Curious question.... whywouldnt you want a cabin where the doors opened under you?

If you are talking about a tendered port that deck would be the RIveria deck where people get off.

Conquest for the beginning of August will cost some bucks.. If you can go the last week you will save a great deal. (remember this is hurricane season)
Aug 6= 1079+ pp 759+ 3rd pass rate
aug 13 = 979+pp 759 3rd pass rate
aug 20th - 849+pp 759 3rd pass rate
aug 27 - 799+pp 759 3rd pass rate

figure is about 50 bucks more for government taxes. above price is for a cat 8a
add 50 bucks more pp to move up each deck.

You will love just about any balcony cabin you get. Go for it and enjoy! We had one the first time on our third cruise and got addicted and won't sail without one now!

I am guessing here, but I think I understand the question.

A balcony cabin is just like an oceanview cabin, except instead of a window you get either a door that opens or a sliding door. Outside the door is your balcony. On the Carnival ships all the balconies on the sides stick out the same amount, so your floor is the ceiling of the balcony below you and your ceiling is the floor of the balcony above you. On the rear of the ship this is not true. The lower balconies stick out more than the upper balconies. So, on to your questions ...

Are there any suggestions on where balcony should be located? On the outside of the ship :) The many theories that apply to cabin location apply to balcony cabins also. All of the 8B cabins have cabins above and below (quiet). Aft facing balconies provide an unbeatable view. Cabins near the front or back of the ship pitch (up and down movement) more than balconies near mid ship. The Lido deck cabins (8D) are nice because you walk out of your door (cabin door - not the balcony door) and into the pool.

Click on the link below to see a picture of the Conquest. The cabins above the lifeboats are the balcony cabins ...

Hope this answers your question.

We've cruised the Conquest three times, had an inside cabin twice and a balcony our last cruise. We've always been partial to the 10th floor and like its location and there are fewer cabins up there. The views are superb and the closeness to "what's happening," make it our favorite. deck. We've had friends who had a balcony on deck 7 and it was no different than ours on the tenth. The quietness and privacy, based on our trips, seems to be the same on all balconies.

Go that extra and get the balcony, especially if it's one of those "once in a lifetime" cruises. We might get an inside on our next cruise, but it's only because we spend so little time in our cabin, and haven't in the past, spent much time sitting our on the "porch."

Enjoy your cruise. You'll find the ship fantastic and easy to navigate.

Thanks for all your help. I have heard that the 8A's are noisey due to the promanade deck below. Guess we will go for an 8B, but will be farther aft than usual. Any noise from the pool decks above? Looking at cabin 7354, but can get an 8C for only a little more #8296. Thanks!

I had cabins on the upper deck--on top of a lounge and never heard nothing. But lots of reivews state the noise level on the promanade deck around the casino area is terrible until 11pm or so. (not intot he week hours of the morning though)

7354 is an inside cabin.. be careful

8296 looks to be und4er pool chairs-- chose a cabin a little further up on the deck plans- you may hear scrapings of the chairs in the hours of themorning when the chairs are being set up.

We just got off the Conquest sunday and had room 6323 on the Upper deck it was quiet and very nice. This was our first cruise and I picked the room myself so not bad for a newbie.

My husband and I just received a wedding invite. Everyone is boarding the Conquest sailing to Montego Bay (that's where the wedding will be). We've only sailed twice and that was on RCI/TheExplorer. I thought that ship rocked. I've been wanting to try Carnival. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this ship? We will be reserving a balcony cabin. The hubby will have it no other way now. Also, we're sailing in mid October. Isn't that hurricane season???
