My husband and I booked our cruise for March on Destiny back in November and made final payment in December. Then around Christmas time, we noticed the price of the cruise had dropped about $400. When we tried to get either shipboard credit or an upgrade, we were told that there was nothing that could be done because we had already gotten a special and we had made final payment. We mistakenly bought the airfare with the cruise, because we were told it was a good deal and when we booked Carnival was running a special. Also our TA (we booked through AAA) told us that the difference was hidden in the airfare- that the price we saw for the cruise was lower because the price quote we had increased the airfare. Therefore, the company was getting the same price. Now through bestpricecruises, the rate for air and cruise is about $125 cheaper. My husband and I would be happy with any compensation, even if it was just $50 shipboard credit, but I am afraid to contact our TA again for fear of getting the same answer. We were happy with the price we paid, but now it seems everyone is getting either shipboard credit or an upgrade when the price falls. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Call your travel agent......have her call Carnival and see if Carnival will offer something. They don't have to, as final payment has already been made, but many times, they will offer something, whether it be an upgrade, shipboard credit, or wine.
