I've seen them. Most herbs get a lot larger than what they show in the picture.One basil plant alone can be 2' x 2'. Chives get to about 18" with a 10-14" spread.
Some herbs require more water than others.
I just can't see how it would be very good.

=yeah I agree...seems like a good idea but I just don't know how it would work in a small spot...maybe just one herb to each system...

i actually saw one of these in Bed Bath and Beyond and it is much larger than it appears on tv. i'm actually gettig one for Christmas.
i have a herb garden all summer and can't stand being without the fresh stuff. buying fresh at the store is sooo expensive and i tend to not use it all before it goes bad. the key to keeping the sizes under control is to continually pinch off new growth. i'v e had great luck with this in my outdoor garden, particularly with basil. i'll let you all know how it goes after Santa makes his delivery!:daisy
