Anyone on the Holiday leaving from Mobile on Nov/30?

Has anyone recently (last month) taken a cruise on the Holiday?

This will be our first cruise and I have a couple of questions :)

Hi
I am booking my first cruise with Holiday soon and thinking that Nov/30th sounds good. I've got loads of questions. I will be taking my mom who is 80 and doesn't get around very well. Thanks Cruzman for the help :)

No problem. We will be sailing the "dear old lady" again in July. Any questions that you have, just fire away.

The Holiday will be a good size ship for your Mom. It is the smallest of the fleet and the only thing that it does not have is a multi-story atrium. Those started with the Fantasy class.

But there is not a lot of walking, compared to other ships.
You can also request a wheelchair at embarkation to help her get on the ship. One person from your party can board with her. If she would use a wheelchair during the cruise, you can contact the special needs department of Carnival and they can tell you of the special assistance program they offer.

I have not sailed out of Mobile, but I have heard good things about that embarkation port. If you are on the 4 day, you will be going to Cozumel. Be aware that you may be tendering in there instead of docking and plan accordingly. The Carnival dock is not rebuilt and all their ships have to use the Punta Langosta pier. It depends on how many ships are in port that day. www.cruisecal.com can tell you that. Just put in the date you will be in Cozumel.

Have a wonderful cruise and cherish this time with your Mom.

Thanks to everyone for your replys. I just booked our crusie for 11/24/2007 on the Holiday. WoooHooo and I couldn't believe how great Carnival was........thanks Carnival and Kristen!!!! So easy and we got a great deal. They are even going to speed up embarkment for mom so she won't have to stand in line.

I do have a few questions. First I hope this information is being sent in my package but anyway.......I was wondering about parking. Is parking pretty close to the ship? Can we drop off our luggage before parking? and how about directions to the ship? How soon should we be there?

LOL, I told ya'll I had questions.

Parking garage is actually part of the building from which you will be embarking the ship. Dunno from which direction you will be traveling, but if coming from the west (MS, LA, etc), follow I 10 to the Canal St exit, go to the bottom of the ramp to the light and turn right; stay in the right lane. You will have already spotted the ship long before the ramp, but simply follow the traffic officers' directions and into the terminal. Porters will be waiting for your luggage. After dropping off your check-ins, simply drive thru and to the left, up the ramp and into the parking garage (fee of $12 per day in advance, cash or credit card). After parking, take the elevator down to the ground floor, and you will be directed to the check in area. Boarding usually begins around 11:30 AM. Have a great cruise, and welcome to Mobile!
