Lotsa comparison's today Mr. Cruise Man, LOL. I have sailed Carnival 4 times, but never on the Conquest. I have sailed on the "Z", as well as 3 other dam ships. Since HAL is my favorite cruise line (by far), and the "Z" was the best cruise experience of my 15 overall cruises, I gotta recommend the "Z"; but then I am prejudiced here. If you want particulars, I suggest you read my review posted on this site.

Hi, I've been on both of these ships. I enjoyed both ships very much. It really may come down to what type of cruise experience you would like. Both are good, but both are different as well.

HAL's Zuiderdam is smaller and more luxurious and yacht like. The food and service are strong focal points. The Z is a great ship and I can't say enough good things about this ship and if its in the Caribbean. Half Moon Cay was wonderful. This new class of ship also offer a well rounded choice of onboard activities for the whole family.

Carnival's Conquest is a very large ship with its themed "entertainment" interiors puts the FUN in each public space. Its a wonderful ship and great crew will treat you well. If you looking for a more active "FUN" time cruise, than Carnival has the fun with wonderful entertainment, active casino's, multiple comedy shows and cruise directors that make it all work like magic. You can still have your quite moment's as well.

Its all about options and making the best out of each cruise. However, make sure you buy the type you want. Each cruise line sells a style and level of service. This attracts like minded customers and age groups.

I hope this helps alittle.

Here are some pictures I have of both cruises onboard each of my trips:

you should sail on a carnival cruise if you want to have a great time on your cruise, the zuiderdam is a little bit for the older crowd not for the younger cruisers, the time i had was great ,because it was one of my first cruises. justin

We sailed on the Conquest last January. It was a beautiful ship and enjoyed
the food and service on her. The waiter and asst.remembered all of our names
and preferences without asking a second time. In fact, the best service we've
ever had on any line. Have cruised many lines. The food in the dining room was
good, and the food in the reservations only restaurant was fantastic (had 3
people waiting our table. The presentation of food on Versacci plates and silver
was a beautiful sight. A must go.

We are scheduled for the Zuiderdam in August , and should be in for a
great cruise.
