Honeymoon Cruise

Hey everyone. This is my first time "foruming". My fiance and I are getting married on July 28, 2008 - so for a honeymoon we are looking into a cruise. My parents have done it and loved it, so now I'm trying to look at my options.

Because its our honeymoon - we want it to be perfect. We've limited it down to two cruises, both leaving on July 28th from NY (gives a day to unwind after the wedding, and we are from Western New York, so departure is closer). One of the cruises is on the Carnival Miracle, the second is the Caribbean Princess.

I was hoping people might have be able to help us with some info. I've gotten the impression that Princess is a little nicer, and that Carnival has gotten a lot better - but are still a party ship (my fiance and I are more about relaxing, not partying).

Also - I wanted to know if it is something we should book now - or wait to snag a deal. I know its easier to snipe a great deal when you aren't set on a departure date. Is it worth the risk of waiting until a few months before? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks everyone!

Welcome to foruming :). I am from Rochester New York, so we must be neighbors :wave

First, no cruise is perfect :) "ship happens", but iMo, no other option for a vacation other than a cruise.

You cant go wrong with either ship, but since you are looking for a more quiet atmoshphere, then go with Princess.

I would book yesterday. If the price goes down most TA's will honor the lower price. Ships are selling out.

Like you're gonna see much of the cruise anyway, it's your honeymoon!

OK, sorry, I couldn't resist. I would totally go Princess, I doubt you will be sorry. Suer is right, ship happens, but I think you will have an enjoyable time. Make sure you let your TA know that it is your honeymoon. Special things happen when you let them know you are celebrating a special occasion.

Welcome and enjoy!
