Horizon Concierge Class

We received an offer for a 12 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Horizon on November 29, 2004. One of the options is Concierge Class (cabin category CC) at $750 each which is only an additional $144 over Category 7 oceanview cabins. I know nothing about the Concierge Class. Can anyone help us or give us some guidance as to whether or not this is a good deal and what Concierge Class contains? Thanks so much for your help. Also, do any of you have positives or negatives to the Horizon for a 12 day cruise?

I have had no experience with the CC class. Be aware that on the Horizon most rooms are the same size with no blaconies. (or I guess they have one now which is a test) The ship is older compared to some of the other classes and smaller also. We enjoyed a Panama cruise aboard her (14 days ) and have travelled her sister the Zenith several times. Well kept up and comfortable ships. Not built for rough water however.

In Celebrity's Bermuda brochure is lists some of the enhanced services:
priority embarkation/disembarkation, fresh fruit and flowers, welcome champagne,
extra comfort bedding, duvets and choice of pillows. Plus a Hansgrohe massaging
showerhead. Then at a few other sites I have also read about choice of seating at
dinner, a private portrait sitting and being invited to certain events on board.
Do not know if this is all true or not.

Although I think the CC class doesn't work as well on a ship like the Horizon as it does on the larger and newer ships I think $750 for a 12 day is almost a gift. If I was willing to do that cruise on the Horizon I would grab it.

Rumor has it that Horizon is getting balconies on deck 10 in November, and the November 29 cruise would be right after that. I booked the CC class on my Christmas Horizon cruise for a couple of reasons. She's an older ship and I liked the idea of a spruced up, enhanced room, particularly the mattress. I figured that Celebrity would have gone into each of the CC rooms and updated/upgraded them, which was worth the extra $100 pp for an 11 nighter. I also thought the little perks that go along with the CC category would be nice on such a long trip, like the bathroom enhancements, the flowers, etc.

Hilary,
If you go into the photo gallery here on cruise addicts and scroll down you will find a gallery called Horizon Balcony and you can see what they have already started doing on the ship as far as adding balconies :thumb
