Can't really decide between the two. I realize the Horizon is quite a bit older and smaller. But my husband is unsure whether he wants to go back on the M class ships after our last Infinity trip of January 19th.
The Horizon seems to still get good reviews.
Please help with any info on both ships.
We are looking to go January of 2004.
Thanks

If you're interested in a balcony you'll have to take the Summit. I've been on both and prefer the newness of the Summit.

Hi Tracy
It's been a while since we were on the Horizon..but everyone I've talked to agrees it's in great shape so no worrys there. You will find that lines are longer if the ship is full.. It just does not handle the crowds like the Infinity did. Nor does it handle the seas as well. But..it normally gets to where its going all the time. I know how you are feeling regarding that. We had friends on the Summit a short while ago and they leave again next week or so. Rooms and everything else pretty well the same but public spaces smaller.

IMO I think the Summit will provide U with more offerings than the Horizon but the Horizon is still a VERY nice ship. Good Luck on your decision and Enjoy!!

We are going to book an 11 day cruise next February . We were on a 10 day on the Summit this past February and had a great time.

Hi Tracey....We cruised on the Horizon two times and loved it! This past January we cruised on the Galaxy and loved that also. For January 2004 we decided to cruise on a newer ship and booked the Summit. We also usually book a balcony cabin, but decided to book an inside and spend the extra money dining at the Normandie Restaurant. Whichever Celebrity ship you choose, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Maybe we'll see you in January!!!!

I have been on the 11-night Summit and I did the Zenith (Horizon sister ship to Bermuda). Take the Summit hands down.

We have sailed on the Summit twice with a 3rd trip coming up in September. Have also done the Horizon. The Horizon was in good conditon last November, much smaller than the Summit though :)

HI TRACEY,
WELL, IT'S 4/10 SO WHAT IS YOUR DECISION GOING TO BE? THE EXPERIENCES ON THE HORIZON AND THE SUMMIT ARE VERY DIFFERENT. THE HORIZON IS STILL LOVELY AND VERY NICE. YOU DO NOT FEEL CROWDED AND THE ATMOSPHERE LEANS MORE TO THE INTIMATE. THE HORIZON IS LIMITED FOR CABIN SELECTION AND ACTIVITIES. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NICE QUIET TIME THEN THE HORIZON WOULD BE A GOOD PICK. IF YOU ARE YOUNGER AND LOOKING TO PARTY A LITTLE HARDER OR NEED A ROOM WITH A BALCONY THEN I WOULD SAY YOU SHOULD GO WITH THE SUMMIT.

GOOD LUCK.
ROSS

Well thanks to all,
I have still not booked as I read some really bad review about the Horizon the other day and yes I know that I have read 10 thousand good ones but what can I say.
Looks like the Summit the 11nighter has a more interesting intinerary than the 10 nighter.
Then I went on to the Celebrity site and saw the Mercury doing Mexican Rivera(my favorite ship), that also sounded great.
Thanks again to all.
I was kinda waiting for some amazing deal to pop up, but that has not happened and looks like it may not.
TraceyB.
