We're going to be sailing out of Galveston the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We'll be spending two nights in Galveston before boarding our ship. Any recommendations on a nice hotel that's not too far from the cruise terminal?

Hey Scottinseattle, Ny wife and I are also sailing from Galveston on Nov26, are you on the Rhapsody? We will be staying At the Holiday Inn on Seawall Blvd, there are several Hotels along Seawall, but We have only been to Galveston once, and I can't really remember any names. I'm sure you'll find many answers from others on this board. We used Hotels.com to find a list of available Hotels, then booked directly through Holiday Inn's Site. Hope this helps a little

We will also be on the Rhapsody on 11/26. Watched her sailaway yesterday with some friends that will be cruising for the first time.

As far as hotels in Galveston. As some have said there are many on the seawall, but close to the pier would be the area called "The Strand". There are two in that area: Tremont House and Harbor House.

Happy Cruising,
BBrown

Galveston is a small island...if you stay on Seawall, (its across the street from the beach) it is a short cab ride...(Id say maybe $8) or as mentioned you could stay in the Strand...do check out the official Galveston webstie as mentioned...it has alot of info...Try to spend a day or two on the island..it is a nice place to visit! ;)
