Thanks. Never tried La Quinta. I'll add it to my list. But is it near the cruise port? We were hoping to be able to look out the window at the Epic in port. Dream on, I say.
I stayed at the Holiday inn last year near Bayside Market. A very nice place . lots of Restaurants and lot to see. But the Hotel is very expensive. I think it cost around $150.00 a night.
$150 per night is too much, but I'm thinking that's what we're going to have to pay to be near the water. I've been reading hotel reviews, and have decided that there are a lot of scary hotels in Miami. So, I'm a clean freak!
We have stayed at the Hyatt by the Bayside Marketplace and have always used Priceline to bid & get our room there. If you are willing to give Priceline a try you can save yourself some $$ and still stay near the cruiseport. There is a great website called bidding for travel that can help you to bid correctly.
Last year, we stay at the Doubletree, Miami Mart near the airport. Got it thru Priceline, $87.00 - Shuttle to the cruise port $10.00 -- It was a beautiful hotel,
Thanks for the info. I just booked a room by the Miami airport through Hotwire. The price is too good to be true for a 3 1/2-star hotel. It's the Wyndham and is going for prices up to $179 on other sites. So of course, I'm having panic attacks about ending up at the Bates Motel!
We still need another room for the night before the cruise. We hope to be out by the water. I've looking at Priceline, but am timid about trying it. Glad to hear it really works.
You are welcome. I used Priceline or Hotwire many times however I always bid three star and above. :sunny: I am pretty sure the Miami Mart Doubletree is 3 1/2 Star. It was formally the airport Sheraton Mart Hotel.
