The Intercontinental Hotel BaySide is the BEST SPOT to see the cruise ships go out Saturday Evening, and watch them come in Sunday early morning.

Also, there is the Four Seasons (85 stories high, no problem seeing), the Holiday Inn (sort of a view), and the Marriot (last resort) North of Downtown.

Try the Intercontinental and see what price you can get......the view is just spectacular!!

Miami unfortunately isn't one of those ports where you have lots of good options. Although the intercontiental is a good choice - it's pricey unless you get lucky with priceline. The HOliday Inn isn't bad and it's across from Bayside. I've heard many say they like the Marriott.

The thing is, if you haven't booked yet, you might have a hard time finding a room at the prime hotels for a decent price. March is spring break time and only a few weeks away.

We stayed at the Hyatt downtown and I can't really recommend it unless you bid 4* on priceline. Check biddingfortravel.com and see what bids are being accepted for Miami. You can get some good deals.

Stay away from the Baymont Inn near the airport, it's not too close to the port, but wanted to warn you away from it all the same! :)

We stayed Bayside Holiday Inn and it was great. Easy walk across the stree to great dinning, shopping and Starbucks. We walked over early morning had our Starbucks and could see our ship. It was a beautiful setting to watch all the ships and yachts in the harbor. I would stay there again when we sail FOS 2008; Hope you will give us a review when you get back.

If you get an east facing room on an upper floor of the Holiday Inn across from bayside you will have great views. The higher the better but they all give you a view as long as you face east. And the price is better there than you will get at most other places. It's nothing fancy but the small rooms are clean with modern granite bathroom counters. There are suites on the north east corner that are quite nice, roomy and don't cost a whole lot more than a regular room. If you can't get a room because they are booked, ask about the suites. You won't be sorry.

Well, after doing a search, it seems like holiday inn is the cheapest one,and that means 150 dollars a night which is too much for me to pay for only one night. so i thought about take a cheap and nice hotel next to the airport and just take a taxi the day after to get to the port.

what do you ppl think?

Just be careful of what area you book......sometimes cheapest is not safest, esp in a big city like Miami.....

Try Priceline or Hotwire.........

yes worth it. It just seems like your vacation starts a day earlier. Walk a across to Bayside, really gets you in the cruise mood. Great atmosphere.
