Last week, Seabourn Odyssey Chief Security Officer Ernie Laughton helped save the day for a distraught guest, who lost her beloved ring when the ship was docked in Corfu. After disembarking the ship, Mrs. Sigal was applying sunscreen when her wedding band slipped off her finger and fell into the water between the ship and the pier, which was about 25m (82 ft.) deep. After many reassurances from Ernie and her husband, Mrs. Sigal reluctantly agreed to continue on their planned tour of the island. Understanding the ring's great sentimental value, Ernie was determined to try to recover the ring. He contacted Captain Mark Dexter with the idea of hiring local divers to search for the missing ring. Two local divers were hired and in a short time, they were able to recover the ring from the sea bed. When Mrs. Sigal returned from her tour that afternoon, she was relieved, surprised and absolutely delighted when Captain Dexter presented her with her gold and diamond ring.

This very special Seabourn Moment was the talk of the ship with guests expressing their appreciation to Seabourn for their extraordinary efforts in retrieving the ring.
