How big is too big?

I was just wondering how Mariner of the Seas compares to the Vision Class other than size. Hows the service, food, crew personality? Also, do you think that the service will go "down hill" on Genesis just because of the sheer size and volume of the passengers?

Im just curious to hear others opinions.

IMO service is based on the individual, not the ship or cruise line. Some will do their job where others will bend over backwards.

Food is too subjective. As long as it is edible I am happy.

I have sailed the Maasdam and the Mariner, the food and service were equal.

IMHO, they have already eclipsed what I consider "too big." I've done the Voyager class and thought that it was a little big. To me, it didn't feel like I was on a ship, and that is part of the fun of cruising. I'll pass on the Freedom class unless an itinerary comes up that I really like (unlikely), and as for the proposed Genesis class? No thanks. Size DOES matter to this cruiser!

Mariner and Vision are pretty close in size. As a side note, she's still around yet I already miss the Empress!!!

I think the Mariner quite supersedes the Vision in size!

The Mariner is listed @ 138,000 tons.

The Enchantment is stretched so does not count. :p

The Legend is listed @ 70,000 tons.

There is about a 65,000 ton difference in the two classes but every ship in every class is different in some manner so with this, weights do vary up to 10%.

IMHO, the Voyager class is too big, let alone 20,000 more tons for the Freedom class.

The Vision Class, for us, is a perfect size.
