How do you get shipboard credit?

I depends on whether the cruiseline or your TA is offering an onboard credit for that particular cruise.

Also, if you are on a ship and schedule a future cruise, you all get onboard credits, different amounts depending on the length of your cruise and the type of cabin you get.

=welcome to the board!!

Cabin credits just come along sometimes with a booking. They are usually to entice you to book, I see them mostly advertised for new bookings. So when you are ready to cruise (dont know if you have one already booked or not) shop around and see if you can find one. It seems to me that they are not as common lately. The ad's I get in my e-mail or regular mail have been coming with "coupon booklets" instead of cabin credits... :blah... I'd rather have the cabin credit because its like cash onboard.

We just got $400 in credits. Don't exactly know why, but I suspect it was some kind of a mini-suite promo thing and since we had bought 2 minis, it equaled $400 ($100 per person). Sure was a nice surprise. We've had little ones as 'thank you's' from TAs, but nothing more than $50 total.
