How do you know how full the Cruise is?

I have been checking the cruise we are on, and notice that all categories are still available. Our cruise is on May 23rd, which is only 10 weeks away. New York to Montreal, 12 nights.

Is the cruise ship going to be empty?

When is it reasonable that we should be seeing categories FULL or sold out indicating that it is a popular cruise?

When does HAL begin discounting to fill the ship up? How many weeks prior does this usually happen?

About 30 days before you go, that is when they start bumping people up and doing the last min. sale stuff. They have been slow with the War junk, so they have been changing the way they do some things.
What Other Lines have you Cruised on?

None, this Holland America trip is our first. We are newbies!
So we are learning lots on this site.

:grin But be sure to stand there both early and late seating (upper and lower level ) and then rush up to Lido to count heads there also!!! :gin The problem is figuring out how many had room service and how many skipped dinner entirey. (That would probably be a short list)

Ooops....almost forgot to count the ones who went to Odyssey.

Go onto the Travelocity.com site. Click on cruises, then your ship, then find your cruise and date. You can then look at every category of cabin and the cabins still available (actually they show only a max of 11 vacant cabins in each category, so there might even be more than 11) will have an arrow flashing on them. That gives you an accurate idea of how full the ship is and more info than just 'available' or 'closed'.

Mark,

I have gone to the Travelocity site, and it does give you a good idea of how many cabins are still available in each category. So far on our sailing in December, we are the only Penthouse sold. I guess as time goes by, we may get neighbors since we are such a long way from sailing.

You know that S7S left out the few people who eat real late and go to the Midnight Buffet which starts at 11:00 pm.

Mark not that many people are doing any type of traveling right now, with our maybe War, and all the other things going on. You know if the Stock Market doesn't get better, I may have to go back to work myself. Ha Ha Ha
