We all LOVE to cruise, but how do we all earn the money to go??
I am a hair dresser in so. california, luckily have been at the same salon for ever so I have a lot of great clients who must like to see me cruise cause I pay for our cruises with my tips ( the actual paycheck pays the bills!). My husband is a nurse, and I have met lots of nurses on these boards, with all the stress in that job you all need to cruise alot!!
so how about you, what is it that you "do" to get yourself on a ship??
always having fun Jo-rene

Being retired and not old enough to qualify for medicare benefits, I drive a school bus mainly for healthcare and other benefits. The pay, though meager, is entirely discretionary; guess what most of that money is used for.

I'm a paralegal and usually cruise with my mom, who runs a medical lab. Any bonus or additional $$ get in my paycheck goes into a secret savings account that I call my 'cruise fund'.

Dan!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a Nurse and my husband works for a real estate investment firm / property management company. We also own some rental property. We plan ahead and budget for cruising, but we don't necessarily book early. Besides cruising, we don't really spend our $$$ on much else.

Well, is there ANYTHING else worth spending $$$ on, anyway???????????????? :)

I have money automatically put in to a credit union across town -- -- WAY across town!! No atm card, no checks, just get in the car and drive for about 45 min. Makes it easy to save and inconveient to spend. Works Great!!!!

I know a guy that owns a business takes employees on cruises by using a

Trip Fund

He sells hair products and has hairdressers and if they give like Clay packs to customers all the money that they all do from that one product , it is like a conditioning treatment , well they take all the money from that , which normally would be included in the pay of the individual hair dressers etc is put into a trip fund... It doesnt matter if one person does 50 and one person does 5 .. It is all towards a trip fund and then there is enough to take EVERYONE ON A CRUISE OR ANOTHER VACATION at LEAST ONCE A YEAR ..It gives the employees something to look forward to each year and also something to talk about to the customers ..

I'm a psychologist and my wife's a nurse. We put a little away from each of my wife's checks and that's our travel fund. Plus, I put all my loose change in a drawer and let it accumulate all year long. It will be $100 or so by the end of the year. We cruise in January, and that will be our gambling money. We have four grown kids and a lot of bills, but we our one splurge is a yearly cruise, which we've just done twice so far, but hope to keep it up until we're in the home. We refuse to charge the cruise, so it forces us to save, at least for that!

see, in just a few messages there are lots of nurses going on cruise vacations, seems like a majority so far, thats a hard job, you all have earned your trips.
Like Don we dont charge our cruises and we also save all our spending money before we go too, that way we can do whatever we want without stressing out over what we spend, it is all vacation money and we can spend it all if we like. It works for us , but whatever it takes just have fun!!
