How do you prepare for a cruise?

Oh that moment of anticipation.. You gotta love that feeling of imagining that day has finally come that you've been waiting so long for... A Carnival Cruise..
For me , it was listening to specific songs that reminded me of going on a cruise (like Pure Moods Tape) or Dire Straits - So Far Away song..
But the thing is , if you get too excited about the cruise coming , your expectations will be too high as well.. Its hard for me to get my mind off getting ready for the cruise in 50 days.. I do everything in my life currently toward the cruise , like working out , or eating right , or saving money....
Ok , so I'm a little weird , I even went to the airport to watch planes fly away. ha ha
But as weird as I may sound , there are probably a lot of others out there that do the same thing , and think the same things as I do when anticipating their cruise...

So that I don't get bummed out , should I plan a second cruise too?

Definately, plan the next cruise!! I find myself always planning, and when the vacation is getting near I am starting to think ahead to what I want the next one to be. I too only have 50 days to go and am doing so much that involves my vacation already, contantly looking at web sites to see pictures of teh ships, read about it and the ports we will be going to. I am a major planner and my family makes fun of me, but who do you think they call when something needs to be planned. They all say that they never look into anything when we go on vacation because "Cynthia will have it all figured out already and tell us where we need to go and when" My excitement for vacation is not only the time we are on vacation but the anticipation and planning that goes into it, then you can almost feel like you are already there. I plan on burning some Hawaian Delight candles soon, the smell reminds me of warm weather and sun tan lotion, and it is snowing where I am right now so warm weather dreams are welcome. As I said, PLAN YOUR NEXT CRUISE if you already have this one all figured out.

When are you leaving, and on what ship?

Hey Jester, here's some prep methods: first, go to your mall on a hot day, stand about 50 feet from the front entrance, and move forward toward the door 1 foot every 3 minutes. The is embarkation prep.

For pool prep, pick a nice hot day, and invite all kinds of ppl over for a swim in your pool. Then after lunch go out to your pool and walk around trying to find a lounger to sit on. Do this for about an hour, and then give up, and take a patio chair and go sit out by the garden shed.

The last is booze prep: go to the liquor store and get some really cool booze. When you get home, arrange to have your big tough neighbor standing in front of your door, who takes your bottle from you, and tells you he'll return it at the end of the week.

And lastly, buffet prep: stuff yourself at dinner, and then go out to a late night buffet, stuff yourself again, and come home and try to get to sleep with a big wad of food in your big ol' stomach.

P.S. Nothing will prep you for disemarkation.
Regards,
-Bob
