Hello Bulldog, If you've already purchased that ticket, then, well, I would just second Suer's advice. Make sure you get off the ship as soon as possible.
But if you have a chance to go with a later flight, I'd go that route.
We are considering a 12:45 flight out of FLL for the Emerald cruise, and even that timing has me nervous enough that we may choose a slightly later one, even if it means having connecting flights, instead of a direct.
I've even asked here on the board for opinions on the 12:45 time, and I've gotten plenty of assurances that it would be fine, BUT my own personal experiences in Fort Lauderdale have me worried. Twice, we've come within a few minutes of missing flights that were scheduled for after one O'clock. Once it was for a 1:15 flight, and just in February, it was at 1:05. Both times they were already boarding the plane by the time we got to our gate. That is much too close for comfort.
The only thing I can add is to be very firm about wanting those early tags. On one of those flights, I'd asked at the purser's desk for the early tags, and instead of giving them to us, they just reassured us we'd have "plenty of time" to make our flight, by going with the regular debarkation. I pressed for the early tags, but essentially they refused. I have to think that their definition of "plenty of time" is not the same as mine.
