I'm going in July and I was wondering how everyone likes the boat and Princess cruises in general? I've never been on any Princess cruise before.

I don't have a lot of experience cruising but my husband and I loved our cruise so much on the Caribbean Princess we are going again this fall. Cruising is the only vacation we have ever taken where DH is talking about the next one!

We loved the food in the dining room, the service was great, and the ship never felt crowded even though it carries a lot of passengers. The aft pool was a great place to end the day and watch the sail away. We felt very comfortable with the mix of passengers and everyone was very friendly. We joined in a lot of activiites and had a great time. Some say the shows aren't as good as other cruise lines but we enjoyed them. Hey, we're on vacation and so it's always a good day!

Please let us know what you think when you return.

Thanks a lot for the info. If you're planning on booking another cruise you should check out the prices on www.equitrip.com their not bad. And as far as your last cruise If you've booked it directly through the cruise line in the last three months I can still claim commission on it which i'm willing to split with you. Call me at 386-960-4134, 386-860-5907, or feel free to e-mail me travel@equitrip.com

My husband and I were in the Caribbean Princess this past February. We really enjoyed being on the ship. We found the small wave pool by the spa was great for us. We were able to do some water exercise there.

Anytime dining worked out good for us. We never felt rushed to get ready for dinner on port days.

Go and enjoy your cruise.

I just returned from the Caribbena Princess on Sunday, May 13th. We were on the Riviera Deck cabin R311 with a balcony view.

Unfortunately my experience on the Princess was disappointing and have to disagree with some of the posted comments. This was my second cruise as my first one was on Carnival's Miracle (Western Caribbean) last April. The Miracle was great! Great food, immaculate boat, extremely friendly staff that were always willing to please you. I couldn't say one bad thing about the boat. It was absolutely beautiful and felt that since we booked on Princess, I thought we were upgrading when choosing this ship.

Princess - I was VERY disappointed by the food quality. The variety was lacking as well. The buffets were not easy to get through the lines due to poor set up. There was no order what so ever. The service staff in the buffet were not very friendly/personable. They acted if we were inconveniencing them and didn't want to be bothered. It by far was the worst food ever. The pizza was horrible. I basically lived on fresh fruit and salads the entire week.

This ship, as I can't compare them to any other ship in their fleet, was definitely catered to the elderly. My boyfriend and I are in our late 30's and not the "lets get drunk and act stupid" type of people. We look to get away on our vacation and relax to remove ourselves from the normal hectic day to day life. The sold out ship of 3200 passengers was an average age of 60. If you are looking for a younger age group of late 20's to mid 40's, THIS IS NOT THE BOAT FOR YOU! I have never seen so many Hoverarounds, wheelchairs and walkers at one time.

The disembarkment was complete chaos and very disorganized. We were signed up for the early walk off as we had a 10:30 flight. When you signed up you were given a number. The deck you were to meet on was packed with people, luggage and no staff what so ever to ensure it was a smooth process.

The boat also seemed run down. It was dirty and wasn't kept up very well. However, there were positive experiences. Liked their pool options and lounge chairs. It was very relaxing to either enjoy the sun or take a nap in the shade. Another great option was the "Movie under the Stars". It was great to watch movies all day with the convenience of laying in the sun and just relaxing. Loved the casino and found the staff to be very personable even though I donated my money to them.

All in all, found this cruise to be a "fair" rating but not "good". Had this been my first cruise, I would opt not to go on one again. But because I had a great experience on the Miracle, will definitely cruise again but on a different line. Princess was definitely not worth the extra money for what I considered as an "upgrade" from Carnival.

I know we all have our opinions and all differ, but when researching you need to find out the average age. It makes a huge difference!! No disrespect to the elderly, but if your not retired you will be very disappointed.

We just returned from the Caribbean Princess and the ship was as nice as ever. We were the first couple to get off the escalator and board the ship at five minutes past noon and in the last group to get off of it at 10:30am a week later.

We ate at 6:00 traditional in the Island dining room and on a scale of 10, I would give our meals overall a 9.5 and our waitstaff team a 10.
Service was excellent as always and give Princess a solid 10.
We were in room D730 and give the room a solid 9 as our cabin was very nice (as last time) but our cabin steward was not up to Princess high standards.
Entertainment and activities were both very good. They have the new electronic texas holdem game (no dealer needed) and played several times throughout the week. Maxine is the casino host and she is a 'hoot'! :)
Overall I would say we had an excellent cruise and booked the Grand Princess next spring a couple of days after we get back as we want to do the western Caribbean again. If the Caribbean Princess was doing the western, believe me, we would have booked her again while onboard.

Hope you have a great cruise and please letr us know how it went when you return.

HAving sailed my 10th cruise on the CB--most cruises were on Carnival. Once on Royal caribbean.
The Caribbean Princess wow'ed me from themoment we boarded until the moment we left.
We chose anytime dining but only made it to the dining room once.
Ate in the Horizon court the first night for their seafood buffet and ate in the Caribe cafe the rest of the times. The only difference between the dining room and the buffet was we served our own food. There were waiters filling water glasses. Tables were set with table ware and table clothes. Strolling musicians playing music geared with the theme for the evening. (Mexican night had those marachi musicians- german night had the accordian players-etc.

I like the CB gave me three times for each show so i didnt have to rush to make one show-- or if one conflicted with another.

We also played Scene it each night since we are trivia buffs.
SHows were all good.

I was afraid to book the princess since I heard it catered to older folks-- and we would find ourselves bored since nothing happens after 11pm I found that not to be the case and had a great time the whole week

You know, we loved the Grand and have been deciding between the Triumph and CP for our Oct. cruise. There is more for us to do at night on Princess with more shows and offerings than on the Fun Ships. I looked at the Carnival Capers and the Princess Patters, and we know we won't get bored on Princess. We sure didn't on the Grand. Without our evenings revolving around our kids, like they did on the Elation, though, I think we'd have to head to the hot tub or the gym about 3 nights to avoid aimlessly roaming the ship searching for something to do. Don't get me wrong. I'd take my kids on Carnival again in a minute. We had a blast. Without them, though, we think the CP is a better fit for us.

Another good site is www.cruiseclues.com

I sailed on the ship from 10th June - 24th June doing both the Eastern and Western Caribbean. I found the ship to be very clean, have good shows, buffets were good (I'm Irish and found the buffets to cater more for the American crowd, so I wasn't that impressed). We sat in the Island Dining Room just once 'cos myself and girlfriend are both fussy about our food, we both had steak which was excellent, service was excellent and so was dessert. Tried the Sterling Steakhouse and it was very good aswell, the fillet mignon was excellent.

Movies Under The Stars is very good, the main pools can be quite crowded, but the wave pool and terraced pool aren't so bad. The gym has plenty of treadmills and weight machines and is right at the top and front of the ship, so nice views aswell. They have a nice casino, art auctions, princess theatre has something on every night, if Steve Moris is on the boat make sure you see him, he is funny as hell. Tony Daro is also kinda funny but Steve Moris is the man.

All in All I had a very good time, I found all the ports intetesting but especially St. Maarten, nice shopping to be done here. I found St. Maarten a lot more relaxed for shopping than St. Thomas

Hi all,

We are first time cruisers =docdance and we are leaving on Sept 16th/07 for our honeymoon :couple to the Caribbean. We have a balcony cabin on the Baja deck at the front of the boat. Does anyone know how the balcony is in that area? Do you have any information that would be usefull for us to make sure that we have a awsome time. I have read alot about people bring :)o alcohol onboard :)-D, comments? What tours would you suggest? How about places to eat? Anything would be awsome. We are 30 & 34 yrs old. What is the age of people we are going to see onboard? I just checked out the website and there is still balcony rooms open for those people that are looking at coming on this tour. Look forward to it and maybe meeting some of you..
