I searched for this topic but I found no postings.

I will be on the Elation in a week and I want to get my wife a massage in the Spa, but I heard that prices are significantly cheaper when the ship is in port.

The port days and times are
Grand Turk 07:00 AM 02:30 PM
Tuesday, January 9, 2007 Half Moon Cay 09:30 AM 06:00 PM
Wednesday, January 10, 2007 Nassau 07:00 AM 03:00 PM

According to the Steiner literature that Carnival faxed me, the regular prices for some of the massages are as follows:

Swedish Massage (25 min) $72
Swedish Massage (50 min) $109
Couples Massage $242
Deep Tissue Sports Therapy Massage $116
Deck Massage (table (25 min)) $72

Does anyone know how much of a discount is given when the ship is in port? I was thinking of scheduling one of these massages for a port day around our excursion.

Thanks in advance

On another site, someone posted this link to a scanned copy of spa prices onboard, which include in port pricing. (Quite a bit cheaper)

Yes the spa prices are definatley cheaper. Alot of times you can get combo packages for a discounted price....When we were on the Valor they had quite a few things listed like mini facials, pedicures, manicures, etc. and you could pick a few for the discounted price...such as pick any three items for this amount. I don't remember how much less the actual massages were but they were less. I've also heard that you can get massages in the port cities for quite a bit less than on the cruise ship. I think I've read that you can get a 30 min. massage in places like Costa Maya for around $25. Hopefully someone else can give you more concrete answers. Have fun planning! Your wife will love her massage!

thanks for the comments, but yes I understand that this will just be taken off my bill (by the way, it specifically cannot be used for gratuities).

We received this on-board ship credit after a serious problem on our last cruise, so we want to use this as a luxury. I guess another idea may be something that will last longer than a 50 minute massage (such as some jewelry).

We were on the pride in november and my wife booked a head to toes package that included a facial pedicure and 60 minuet massage for $119
in port. then they tried to sell her the products that went along with the package and discounted the package 50% to pay for the products. Each port had differen't specials. They also had bid system for sea days where you could name your price and be on call for massage
