How strict with SCUBA rules?

My husband is a certified SCUBA diver, but he hasn't been on a dive since April 2006.

We're sailing on the Crown Princess the last week of October.

For dives in St. Maarten and St. Thomas the disclaimers on the shore excursion page says that the diver must have been on a dive in the last 2 years. Will they really stick to that since it's been 2 1/2 years and not let him dive?

TIA

For insurance purposes they might keep it strict. Perhaps your husband can go to a local dive shop for a "refresher" dive before your trip? Just a thought.

The ship's dives might be pretty strict because of the above mentioned "Insurance" reasons. However, I have found that if you book on your own, they never ask that question. Personally I think they should and maybe do a skills review once in the water. I have seen a few people have problems on that first dive in years.
