I agonized over this, did my research, didn't know where to stay, couldn't make up my mind... and then our friend from the R&D /Marriot gave us a code to use, and a gift certificate! WELL! That kind of cut down the choices for us! Then I had to decide between the Marriott Pinacle and the Renaissance Harbour View. ... tough choice, but I kinda got seduced by the guarantee of the Harbor view, an 8am check in, and the price! So, we'll be staying one block from Canada Place for $29/nite!!! Yahoo!

Now, I just have to pick our excursions.. hey, did I tell you I'm going to Alaska???

wow, what a great hotel for that price. im sure you are going to be very happy and have a great time. i cant wait to get back to vancouver. it is a great city and there are so many things to do. i hope you are going in the day before so you can at least see a little of it before you get on the ship. keep us posted on all your other plans and what you have in store for the trip.

Actually, Vancouver is the DISEMBARKING point of our cruise, it leaves from our home town of San Francisco!

you are so lucky to live in a city where you can get on the ship and not have to travel by air. as i said above i know you will really like vancouver. do you have any things planned for when you get there? i loved grouse mt, capalino suspension bridge and make sure you can browse through granville market if you can. have a great time.

Dusty, those are great suggestions. I am working on our excursions now, and was looking into Vancouver. They said we should be able to have early check in at 8am when the ship docks, so hopefully we can dump our luggage then and take off. We only have that one day in Vancouver, and we can't make a late day of it, because we have an early 5:45am bus ride ot Seattle, so it will be early to bed and early to rise!!!

i got allot of great tips from www.bcpassport.com before my last trip there. that is where i found the tour group land/sea tours. they took me to the mt, the bridge and the market on two different tours. other wise you can jump on the sea-bus ( right next to canadian place ) and go across the bay, then catch a bus and go to grouse or capilino bridge. i loved them both and wish i was going to have enough time to do them again this time. have fun.

The 2005 schedule won't be up until March. In the past, Celebrity and RCCL would be at the less desirable pier, Ballantyne.

Infinity...Canada Place in yrs. past except for Crowded weeks when HAL ships get the pull. This usually occurs only at very beginning and end of season for a weekend.

So, Bob, does that mean that the Infinity most likely will be in Canada Place or in Ballantyne? I guess I need to know for my bus....
