That must be a great feeling. Been a long time since that happened to me, lol.

Last week I was in a "bag it yourself" bargain grocery store, and while I was packing my groceries, my back kept hurting. So, I would have to stop and rest a second.

A woman came up to me and asked if she could help me with the bags. I said, "Thank you, but do I look that bad?" She just said that I looked, er, tired. That's what having a fever and sinus infection for a week will do for you. Doctor finally gave me sinus antibiotics. maybe it will get better now.(he was too worried about my breathing, so he would only give me chest specific antibiotics. did nothing for my head.)

Joanne - that was a great pick-me-upper! :thumb I feel like I've aged a century with these knee replacements. Now...as for who's rooting for whom...GO DIAMONDBACKS! But I won't watch the game so I won't jinx them...

Connie - hope you feel better quickly. How's the little ball-o'-fire doing?

GO ROCKIES

We all had a very sad day at work today.
Last night one of my directors got a call from her daughter's boss. She was told that the adult daughter (late 20's) did not come into work yesterday, didn't call and they couldn't reach her by phone. So my director and her other daughter went to the daughter's apartment and they found her expired. It appears anorexia was the cause. So when she came in today to make plans I just hugged onto her for a long time and told her I was there for her whatever she needed. It hit very close to home to have one of our own have such a tragic and unexpected loss. And this director is really having a difficult time. It doesn't matter that we are in this business, believe me when it hits home it hurts every bit as much. You never get numb to the pain of loss. sighhhhh

Well other than that I've had computer issues and have been fine tuning..I think I'm gaining on it.

Woo hoo tomorrow is Friday........I think I can make it I think I can make it. LOL

It has been very warm here all week and I'm loving it but cooler for the weekend. Flowers are doing wonderful still! Love to come home and see those beautiful colors.

Everyone count down to your weekend and make it a great one!

Mary Ann, he has latched onto Maxie, and is being a little standoffish from time to time. Then, next thing I know, he is sitting under my chair and purring. I guess the whole transition is hard for him. He has taken to attacking Scooter, and Scoots plays with him a little, then they both hiss and go off to their corners. Today for some reason he has spent the day hiding under my bed. Normally I keep the bedroom door closed, but he got in there and wouldn't come out. so, I sent Henry in there, and the noise scared him out. Now maybe he will socialize! He still can't get enough food, shares dinner with me every night. He has decided my couch is his to destroy, we are dealing with that matter, He scratches the front, and I will scold him, he just moves to the back and sharpens his claws there. I am afraid to discipline him too much, he is very jumpy. We just have to keep working on it.

Joanne - I am glad that that 'youngster' made your day! We need more like him around!
Connie - Simon is making himself right at home isn't he? Sure glad that he is fitting in so well.

D'Backs lost. :(

Connie - sounds like Simon is trying to be Alpha kitty, and not getting away with it! Are Maxie and Scoots declawed? Those little claws can be a terror, both on people and on furniture. One of these days, I'll have to tell you about a stray mama cat with a newborn litter that my Dad found in his office drawer one morning - this was in the immediate WWII era. With one meal at our home, the stray suddenly converted from the proverbial alley cat to miss high-and-mighty. :grin

Joanne, that was sure a nice pick-me-up on a day that seemed to be just perfect to begin with....I know you run so much.

Judy, Sorry to hear about your director's daughter. Such a terrible disease...something really needs to be done about the fashion/movie industry to not promote young girls into thinking they need to be so thin.

Connie, that Simon sure shoulds like a lot of fun but I know all about the damage they can do to the furniture. I know a lot of people are not fond of declawing but I've seen what a cat's claws can do to furniture and other pets. I had a cat blind our dog while playing to agressivly. So, when I got Bella I set up her appointment for declawing right away, which wasn't for 2 weeks. Don't you know she put a good scratch in my new leather sofa before that happened. I hid it from Leatherneck with a afghan for a long time, LOL. Luckily brown shoe polish hides it pretty well.

I have always been dead set against declawing. When my son got his cat declawed, I protested. Then, Scooter literally destroyed my couch. Upholstery, padding and chunks of wood were torn out. No amount of punishment, or redirecting to scratching pads would work. He is an extremely strong cat, and I knew he would not leave the caps on.

When I moved in here 3 years ago, I bought new furniture. The first time I caught him pulling a thread out of the new sofa, off he went to the vet. He had a few problems with the surgery, but in the end it all worked out. I keep feeling his paws to make sure they don't hurt him, and they don't seem to. And it is a good thing I did, because several times a day I catch him trying to claw the couch.

Simon seems to be very agressive, so I am thinking he may have it coming too, even tho I would have to do it. I don't want him hurting my cats, or me. I am having problems where he climbed my legs.

Bet that was a great feeling JoAnne! The liquor store by us cards EVERYBODY - you could be 80 years old and they still card you. I felt really young yesterday, someone called for Mike and I answered the phone. They asked me if my "dad" was there! :) I said, you mean my husband? LOL
