I just got an upgrade

On Monday I called to make the final payment for our March cruise aboard the Liberty and the Carnival rep offered me an upgrade to an ocean view cabin and it was $600 cheaper. We are traveling with another family who had made their final payment earlier in the month and when I inquired about this other family, I was able to get them an upgrade as well to an ocean view cabin and they will be getting a refund in the mail. It was some type of past guest upgrade. I've never had that happen before. We always pick our exact cabin, interior and on an upper deck. I have never been offered an upgrade. I'm really excited. It will be nice to have the sun shine in the cabin in the morning. Although we won't be as high up as we usually are, we'll have a window.

Congratulation jkmcroot, Sounds like a great deal.

Just watch out about one thing. Those upgrades are a slippery slope. We used to always book insides too. But once the upgrade fairy hit us, we found we just had to have an ocean view for future cruises. Then it happened again, and now nothing less than a verandah will do. :grin
