I need your Input!

I was going to cruise with carnival on the 15th of Nov. but we cannot as we had some issues arise!

We are however going to go with Royal Caribbean on a 5 day Western Caribbean Cruise on October 4th!

We will be sailing on the "Enchantment of the Seas" with the highest level balcony stateroom one can get...that is not a suite anyways...hehehe

here is our itinerary:

~Day 1 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 5:00 PM
~Day 2 Cruising
~Day 3 George Town, Grand Cayman 7:30 AM 4:00 PM Tendered
~Day 4 Cozumel, Mexico 10:00 AM 7:00 PM Docked
~Day 5 Cruising
~Day 6 Fort Lauderdale, Florida 6:30 AM

This will be our first cruise so....
If anyone has any input to give as to how this ship is or any tips for sailing with RCCL that would be awesome! Please feel free to offer any past good/bad experiences you have had with this ship and or line!

Thanks Guys and Gals...the help is mucho appreciated!

Have been on multiple cruises on RCCL and can't say a bad word. The food is not as fabulous as it was when we started many many years ago (when fuel prices were not so high, if you see what I mean) but it is still on par with any restaurant I can afford to frequent, the service is fantastic, and I didn't have to prepare it or clean it up. Since I gain about a lb. a day on board I guess it is doing just fine. The nicer you are to the staff the nicer they will be to you. Getting to know them a little, talking about "home" and previous posting in the cruise industry is really part of our fun. We have always been treated well, but we treat the staff well too. If you have an expectation not being met, let someone know and maybe it can be taken care of. you don't know until you ask. These people survive on tips and aim to please. Advancement is limited to those people who get good comment cards. I have heard of other's bad experiences with staff but haven't had this first hand. Positive people have positive experiences. Stay excited and enjoy!

I recently sailed on the Enchantment of the Seas and I completely enjoyed it. What a wonderful crew, and such a super value of food, service and quality. I think RCCL is known for their service, and you are going to enjoy yourself!!! I went in October when we had the tropical storm Noel. The itinerary was changed several times during the cruise, we missed out on some of the land excursions as planned but I still had a wonderful time.
Watch for the Chocolate Buffet!!! mmmmmmmmm

Definitely go to Sting Ray City in Grand Cayman, and book the earliest excursion time. When I went the tide rose so hight that only the first group in the morning got to go, which luckily I was on. I hear that is uncommon, but still. We did a combo stingray & snorkeling trip, it was more money but if you like that I'd highly recommend it. That was the highlight of our trip.

I agree with going to Sting Ray City in Grand Cayman. Last time we went on an independent excursion and it was SOOOOOO much better than the ship's. We went on Captain Bryan's Buccaneer and had a wonderful time! The timing was great as it gave us plenty of time to get off the ship and get to the gathering place, and we got back in plenty of time to wander around the town, eat, and do some shopping before going back onboard. This is an easy island to do an excursion other than the ship's. There are some places where I would definitely say to stay w/ a ship's excursion. Grand Cayman is a small island that you can see most of from the ship. Swimming with the stingrays ranks in my top 5 things I have done in my life.

Have fun, no matter what you do!

Hi Beth,

As far as the ship....I don't think you can go wrong! The Enchantment of the Seas is a beautiful ship - just read around the posts and I'm sure you will find nothing but good comments. In April will be our 2nd time on the Enchantment and from what I've heard since they "stretched" the ship - I can't wait to see it!

As far as your itinerary - you will not be disappointed. I recomment Sting Ray City in Cozumel - great experience!

As far as Cozumel - this April will be our 2nd trip to Cozumel. The first time we went to a beach club - sorry can't remember the name, but we booked it through the ship. It was nice, but this time we are just going to grab a cab to some local beach and do some shopping on our own.

I think you will love your cruise!
