I wonder if Celebrity offer homemade ice cream and if there is a charge for it? Do Celebrity ships have good pizza?

Yes, they have ice cream and sherbet and there isn't a charge for it. They even have low fat and sugar free ice cream. Plus toppings and all that stuff.
The pizza is pretty good but unless you get there when they have just taken it out of the oven, it doesn't stay hot very long.

The ice cream and sorbet are made fresh daily and are quite good. There is no charge. As far as the pizza goes ,it' ok but not great.I'm from the NYC area where we have probably the best pizza in the country so eating the ship's pizza is somewhat disappointing.

Ice Cream is pretty good and available both as desert in the Dining Room and at a counter near the buffet...

Pizza is "okay"...better than Royal Caribbean, not as good as Carnival (one of the things Carnival does very well)...available at the buffet (You don't have to go through the seating/ordering/service thing Princess made us do...

Want better than the Pizza? Check out the Sushi...

Just got off the Summit about 10 days ago; the ice cream is very good, made daily with new flavors available each day, lots of toppings and there is no charge. The pizzza was not bad but not like what I get here at home.

We went to Bermuda on the Celebrity Zenith and the soft ice cream machine was on the 11th deck (pool deck) in the Windsurf cafe. That is where the buffet is located. It was in the dining area past the elevators. The pizza was located on the 11th floor also in the back of the ship at "the Grill".

YES, I thought the ice cream is great. Although it has changed a bit since our last trip. More generic flavors but available all on a regular basis. Before they would have a limited supply and when it is out, it is out. This last trip Oct.-Nov. / Constellation had the basics. Choc, Van, Straw. & a sherbet. Rarely was there Mint chip, my fav. (only once and it was only in the fine dining room as a dessert)

The ice cream is offered mid-days at the first food station headed to the aft behind the pool and glass elevators (both sides of the ship) So make sure you check the selections because they can sometimes vary from one another. ALso they have a soft serve machine with two flavors or a twist if you prefer over the good stuff. All ice cream and sherbert is made in the kitchen onboard (We had a tour in 02)

Save room because during sea days we had wait staff from the dining room come out to the pool side and serve a sorbet to each that was interested.

Now for the Pizza. I was impressed. The Royal Caribean stuff tasted like a bad frozen pizza. This is a definate ship made crust. In fact all of the breads are made and baked on board, daily.

Pizza is served at the pool side grill until 6:00 and again in the cafe until 12:30am daily. Just make sure you select from a moderately fresh pie. (We like hot sauce so we purchased a bottle in Madeira just for Pizza eating enjoyment) If you have craving, you can even order a pizza for one from room service (no charge) It is defineatly a frozen kind but still much better than RCCI's. The room service works off your TV and it is baked and delivered with-in 10-15 minutes.

Now here is a secret that not many know! In the mornings the Cova Cafe (aboard M-class ships) has a selection of pasteries. Now all BUT ONE is served in the dining room at breakfast. The best one is only at the Cova Cafe! This is Croissant with Almond Paste inside and sliced almonds on top. They are baked in the morning and are available from apx. 8:30 on. (Best when eaten warm). We ate in the dining room but always stopped at the Cova for a couple to eat with breakfast. A couple of passengers complained to the staff that they were not told about these pastries. We got a good laugh like there was not already enough food to eat!

Thanks Aaren for revealing that secret about the almond horns - Now I will have to get to the Cova earlier than normal in order to get one before they run out. They are my favorite and I would often skip breakfast so that I could have one.
