Ice Skating Show tickets

Hi everyone!!! Already have my first questions......
This will be my first ship with an ice skating rink. When and where do the tickets go on sale for the show? I read that they go fast and that you have to get them early and I want to be sure I am in the right place at the right time :)
Thanks for any tips!
ALSO, I checked the big website with all the menus from the ships and cannot find any really recent ones from the Mariner. Does anyone who just came off of it happen to have pictures of the newest menus? I want to figure out which nights we want to make reservations for the alternate restaurants. :)

Ahoy Hollyanne and =welcome aboard Curise @ddicts :wave

First of all, the tickets don't actually go "on sale". The ice shows are free so you don't purchase tickets. The reason you need tickets is that the ice rink seating can not possibly hold all the 3,000 plus passengers aboard at one time so tickets are given out for the different shows in order that everyone gets a chance to see it. The ice show is fabulous, best entertainment I've seen on a cruise so far.

The first opportunity to get tickets is right after the first "shopping lecture", usually the first morning of the cruise right after breakfast.

I don't go to the shopping lectures for many reasons but I figure if I show up about an hour after the scheduled time that the lecture begins that's about right. Just have an idea of which night and which show (early or late depending on your dining time) and you should be fine but get them on the first day to be sure you get the show you want.

As far as the menu, not to sure but the formal nights are always on the second and sixth nights on a seven night cruise. We usually do the speciality restaurants on "Caribbean Night" because I'm not that partial to that kind of cuzine. Jerk chicken is great but not when I can be eating a big ol' steak at Chops Grill instead.

Hope that helps.

=funsign on your cruise.

Thanks MBandy

Thanks MBandy for your information. This will be our third cruise and first with an ice-skating rink/show. I thought all I had to do was show up at the correct time and place like any other show and find a seat. I did not realize that I would need to get us tickets. It is always good to know these things ahead of time and thanks to our cruise-addicts friends we always have smooth sailings ahead of time to look forward to.

Cruise 1 - Carnival(td) Conquest - Sept. 2005
Cruise 2 - Norwegian SUN -(tu) January 2007 - Great time but rough waters
Cruise 3 - RCL Voyager of the Seas:wave - January 2008 - Can't Wait!

The menus are exactly the same for all 7 day cruises so if you can find recent ones from a voyage class ship you should be fine. Also you can inquire with the Matre'D at the specialty restaurants and he should be able to tell you which night is which dinner.

We will be on Adventure of the Sea in May. We will be in a Grande Suite. Will our concierge be able to help us with ice skating show tickets? We were on the Voyager several years ago and we had to get our tickets as soon as we got on the ship. Is is different now?

Not sure about the concierge but it's worth a try. The Ice Show tickets are distributed by the Cruise Director staff. We have also found them at the Pursor's Desk during non scheduled distribution times.

The Concierge will have tickets for all 4 ice shows. Just ask him when they will be available, They're generally just on his desk and you pick what and how many you want.
The last couple times they have been for specific shows, the first couple were anytime tickets. Don't know how they will be on the Adventure.

Can you let me know what websites post the menus for Royal Caribbean. I want to know what night to make reservations to the alternative restaurant.

Thanks
